not really for a guy who has not played a down of football in a year

I don't know the pay schedule for someone drafted where he was drafted, but the pay schedule should be set and fair. I don't think it is right to pay him differently. In fact, if I'm his agent, I'm looking in the CBA and ask the PA what they think.

Would the Union even allow that?

I don't believe that's possible considering that's not a random test. And I doubt the Union would allow him to consent either, which is why it's said to be "possible."

They aren't paying him less, just not giving him guaranteed money. I doubt there's anything in the CBA about requiring rookies to have guaranteed money in their deals. And bonuses can be set up anyway the two sides want. Besides the team can't force Tyrann to sign a contract he isn't okay with.

Yep.

Since players have to play 3 or 4 years (not sure0 to recieve NFL benefits i would think any agent would say hell no....the union would definitely advise them to get a signing bonus and would not like the weekly drug tests.

That is kind of messed up. His agent should not accept this. The cardinals drafted him knowing the risks involved.

So you expect a team to just dump money on a guy who they can't guarantee will pan out? Just because they drafted him? This is the line of thinking that already get teams in salary cap trouble.

He's doesn't have anything now, so how is he worse off?

So every other player in the draft is guaranteed to pan out?

How many players drafted haven't played a down of football in over a year? And how many of them have documented issues with drugs? If you have some, how many of them were drafted? I understand your argument, but you are asking them to guarantee money to a mentally unstable guy, who they aren't sure is going to make the team much less stay clean.

Then why draft him in the 3rd round?

They shouldn't have drafted him.

I know where you are coming from but if I was his agent I would tell the Cardinals to frick off. No way i would allow my client to sign and not get guaranteed money in line with draft picks selected around him.

Who is his agent? I know if I'm a player, I don't know if I want him to represent me. Sure, Tyrann got drafted, but you get drafted so you can get PAID. Do you want to be the number #3 pick overall if and not get paid like the #15 pick overall?

Probably the same reason alot of players are drafted. Reward could be high.

The drug tests I mayagree to. But no way in hell I would agree to no guaranteed money. Tyrann is an undersized player. If he suffers a career ending injury he walks away with nothing after being drafted in the third round? No way I agree to that if I was his agent.

I wonder if this is all bs and a signing bonus is going to be kept under the table. No agent would agree to this.

I honestly don't think his agent or Tyrann have a leg to stand on considering his personal issues. I think that is what it comes down to.

He needs to stay clean to be successful anyway so that's no big deal.

The terms of the Cardinals is ridiculous. The Union should be able to help in this situation. Tyrann also needs an agent that isn't going to allow a team to screw him over.

Rams tried to pull something similar last year with Janoris Jenkins.

Him being taken in the 3rd round gives them something to stand on
