Classes 1A - 4A week 1 games will Be last weekend of August.
Classes 5A & 6A will start one month later.

not only do kids get an extended summer, they get to start practice when the weather isnt hot as shite

Sorry to bring Daingerfield back up, but the stat where they gave up less than a foot/play is flipping incredible, as is 13 straight shutouts. Only one of the Everett's played on that team, and it is not the one most think it was.

2 reasons
Many of the cities that aren’t opening till sept 7 are in 5a and 6a.
2nd. Now basketball and football will now overlap a good bit. Lower class teams would have issues fielding basketball teams losing football players. Most lower division teams will be opening schools in person in August.
