Last 6 years, huh?
You said it was a dreadful day for ratings and it wasn’t so you’re wrong. Have a good one.

Yes, it was.
Per a quick Googlin':
"The 2020 and 2021 NBA Finals, played later in the year due to the pandemic, also had lower viewership. Excluding those years, the 2025 series is the least-watched in the Nielsen era (since 1988)."

I’ll be curious to see the CWS final game ratings. The women’s softball final game got over 2 million people.

OKC vs Indy NBA Finals ratings:
Game 7 was the most watched NBA Finals game in the past 6 years.
Peaked at nearly 20 million viewers.
The 7 games were the 7 most watched primetime TV programs over the past 2 months.
Game 7 was the most watched NBA Finals game ever internationally on NBA League Pass.

What do ratings have to do with enjoying the game?

The two-game LSU-Coastal Carolina Men’s College World Series Final averaged 2.5 million viewers on the ESPN networks, down from last year’s three-game Tennessee-Texas A&M series (2.82M) but the most-watched sweep since the final shifted to a best-of-three format in 2003 (ten total series).
Sunday’s Game 2 averaged 2.8 million viewers across ABC and ESPNU, down slightly from Tennessee-Texas A&M Game 2 last year (2.92M) but still the sixth-largest audience for an MCWS game on the ESPN networks.
Figures for Saturday’s Game 1 on ESPN and ESPNU were not immediately available.
This year’s MCWS Final ranks as the fourth-most watched in the best-of-three era. LSU has played in three of the top four, with the Tigers’ 2023 win over Florida (2.86M) and 2009 win over Texas (2.76M) ranking first and third respectively. (Last year’s series, which ranks second, is the lone exception.)

For Comparison, women's college basketball that is routinely lampooned here, the most recent title game, without Clark mind you had over 8 million viewers.
Jay said on Mascona yesterday that he had a friend in the media business that called college baseball a "channel changer". Jay said he told him - "Well, it's not here". Both are right. The passion is just different here. It's what makes it special.

So, less than half of the viewers from the 1998 Finals?
Why is it compared to the most viewed finals in NBA history?

So, you REALLY can't see how far the NBA game has fallen? Are you serious?

This has nothing to do with whether or not the NBA has fallen or not. It's not surprising that an Oklahoma vs Indiana finals has less viewership than the MJ Bulls vs Jazz
You want to talk about a sport that is fallen? Why not talk about the MLB? You say this finals was half of the 1998 finals, well last year, a dream matchup of the Dodgers and Yankees averaged 1/3 of what the 1978 World Series did. Hell 2023 had the Rangers vs Diamonbacks, which is essentially baseballs version of OKC vs Indy, and it was the fewest viewers for a world series since they started tracking viewers.
This years finals was in no way dreadful, especially given the markets in the finals.

As far as national television viewing yes....tv ratings for MLB have fallen. It's no longer a national sport but it's doing well in other ways. Actual attendance now is better than it was back then, and it's consumed differently as teams have their own local tv deals and folks watch their teams via that method.
For example, in my own experience I'm a Cub fan, I get MLB Channel to watch the Cubs and I watch over 100 games a year and I go to 2 or 3 series a year at Wrigley and usually one road series. But I don't watch very much of any other team...maybe the Astros occasionally as my in-laws are big Astro fans.

And don’t forget the people who watched it on pirated YouTube channels. The OP is a proven retard

I will agree baseball has fallen. No argument there.
