Tulane got a commitment Friday from Oregon transfer quarterback Ty Thompson, a former top-100 recruit who is now primed to lead the Green Wave offense in 2024.

Thompson, who was the No. 67 overall prospect in the 2021 class as a four-star recruit from Gilbert, Arizona, announced his decision on social media. He was the No. 15 pocket passer in his class and signed with the Ducks out of high school.

Thompson has two years of eligibility remaining and is joining a Tulane offense seeking to replace this season's starter, Michael Pratt, who declared for the NFL draft.

Huge get for Tulane. I believe he would have started for Oregon this next season but Dillion Gabriel transferred to his 3rd different school

Wonder what that means for Horton who I think pulled his name out the portal.

Very exciting news for Tulane.

Horton had zero shot of being of our starting QB next year.

So he would’ve started if Oregon didn’t go get someone better so that he wouldn’t start?

All because they joined the ACC.

Just kidding. Dude is probably just looking for somewhere to get his training wheels before he jumps back to Oregon.

Warm the seat up for Ibieta in 25

At some point he's gonna stay healthy. Might take him 6 years but it will happen.

idk how that’s possible.

No one besides tulane fans talk about him. He’s not terrible and there are hyped up QBs who genuinely suck

I thought he was outstanding in mop up duty and wasn’t happy taking the transfer after he had been so loyal and made huge performance improvements. I think Tulane got a really good one that I wished would have been the next QB at Oregon

Maybe Pratt was hurt and we didn’t know the extent. But he struggled mightily in some critical games.

Seemed like a good leader though. Just not sure why he couldn’t make the critical pass. Felt like Jayden Daniel’s first year at LSU.
