Take your NFL shot, be a mid round pick at best, risk not being able to perform at your previous level and maybe even get hurt again. Or take your several million dollar disability policy and go be a coach or motivational speaker or whatever.

Dude is way too competitive...no way he just cashes in and calls it quits.

He forfeits his insurance policy if he returns to play at Alabama, from what I’ve read.

you aren't a competitive type are you

Im pretty sure that if a doctor clears him he doesnt get that insurance money, whether he plays or not.

Couldn’t he still make money if he drops to a mid round pick?
Guy outta Oregon was taken in the 7th round and collected 2-3 Million
ETA:
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, drafted out of Oregon in the seventh round by the Cleveland Browns in 2015, collected a $3 million thanks to a loss of value policy secured in advance of his senior season.

Depends on the policy. Some players have policies based on what round they get drafted in following an injury

He'll never take another snap at Alabama, but getting a free year of school and rehab might be the play here, get fully healthy for the 2021 draft.
Interesting hypothetical would be someone like NO or NE picking in the back of the first with HOF QBs on the tail end of their careers.

mid round pick
If there's a good possibility he plays again, someone will take a shot at him at the end of the 1st. Would need to be a team with a vet QB (NOLA, NE, Pitt) that won't need him for 2-3 years. And by taking him in the 1st, you get the 5th year option.

seems we have the same idea on that one.

Someone will be willing to take him first round and let him sit entire rookie year
Posted on 11/18/19 at 10:02 pm to MikeD
Where does this injury sit in terms of how often a guy comes back from it?

Realllllly hoping Taysom gets a shot at the job...or we can somehow get Burrow.

Someone will take a shot at him at the end of the 1st
