With the reported expenditure of $13 million for transfer players during the offseason, as well as Michigan's national championship season, I feel like this is a make or break year for Day. He's been recruiting lights out since he took over the reins to the program from Urban Meyer, but he has failed to get the program back to the mountain top. What's worse for Ohio State fans, for the first time since the late-90s, it would appear that Michigan has taken over the rivalry.

I am going to answer my own post and say "true." If Day fails to defeat Michigan for a fourth straight season, I think he's going to be looking for another job come 2025.

The hiring of BoB will be his undoing. The fans will look at the talent on the field and wonder why they are in struggles to beat the likes of Maryland or Purdue while scoring 24 points a game.

True, unless he also makes the playoffs and makes a deep run or wins it. If purely predicting what will happen, I think hes gone at the end of the season. Fanbase has turned on him more than any coach I've seen there, new ad and the money will want blood.

Congratulations Michigan. I'm putting a future bet on Michigan to win. Thanks PJ for free money.

Finebaum already pivoted to using Day as his big ten whipping boy

False

Only False because they hired the same AD that gave Jimbo a crazier deal than Fat Scott did and the same AD that thought Mark Stoops was going to be head coach.

Look for Bjork to extend Day and he gets at least two more years of failing with all his talent.

With all the talent he brought in with NIL,portal, recruiting, … he better beat Michigan or he’ll be fired. Osu fans won’t put up with 4 years in a row

Dude better win or his seat will be on fire! OSU aren’t exactly an easy crowd to please when they lose their most important game.

Ohio State fans is Day giving up play calling duties to BOB? I know he floated the idea to giving it to Hartline before this past year but it ended up not happening.

False! With one loss on the season and headed to the playoffs, they are not firing their head coach. Now if he loses in the first round of the playoffs following a loss to Michigan, then yes he would be fired.

I say absolutely true. Ohio State should be one of the best teams in the country and Michigan will be mediocre with Harbaugh.

Firing Day will cause the portal to explode. Alabama had as smooth a transition as you could have and we lost a lot. (got a few good ones too.) But could you imagine what a firing with animosity would do to that roster? Day has to tank it pretty bad to get fired in this portal era.

Yes. He is trying to turn into more of a CEO type coach as opposed to calling plays. So BoB is supposed to be the playcaller (he will have input) but it's supposed to still be Day's offense that he has the book to as well as adding in some new pieces
