I say that meaning the worst place to be in pro sports is too good to be able to draft a difference maker but not good enough to seriously content for the title and I think that’s where the 49ers would be with Mac. Putting him on the Pats though who knows.

Better question is how long will the Pats fans allow playoff-less seasons or first round losers.

They have been ruined.

And they are now in hell. Because when you win every year all the time and are in the playoffs every year and you lose it.

No one is gonna get a fair shake. It seems like a terrible place to go honestly.

The only thing Mac Jones is going to hear until he is cut from the team is Tom Brady this and that.

Man I wasn’t too high on Jones but even I think that’s a little harsh

First 3 picks in the draft were not good. Lawrence was not that good against elite competition the last 2 years, Wilson played against scrub teams in 2020 and Lance is a major project.

The game has changed since most of them played.

A shite ton of these new dual threat QBs have the ability to succeed as pocket quarterbacks.

I mean to be fair, the qbs after lawrence are all shite. None are a sure fire thing. Just people picking hoping they are getting the next russ, brady, or mahomes. Who would ypu have taken. Z wilson has done nothing either

Lance wasn’t asked to do anything in college but basically be a running back on a team that out talents/classes their opponents in every way.

Have you read any scouting reports or watched any NDSU football? That’s really not their offense.

I laughed when most of the highlights of him during the draft were him running the football instead of passing. He could be the next Josh Allen, but I think that he'll be an epic bust.

How many top QBs had so little college experience?

Mitch had 572 collegiate passing attempts against much better completion and has floundered in the NFL. And I’d say completing passes has never been easier in this age of football.

I can’t see this kid getting the reigns for two or three years.

You're gonna be shocked. The big thing coming out of the draft scouts was accuracy. That's what it takes to make it in the NFL. He could be a bust, or he could be Drew Brees. I do know this, Bill Belichik knows what a good QB looks like and selected Jones.

I think he went to the only potential place he could succeed if I’m being honest. Shanahan is elite at making the offensive scheme around QB talent. They have some weapons and a good O-Line, great defense (secondary is a little questionable right now)

Guys like Lance should be kissing the feet of Patrick Mahomes for getting them paid

I don’t see the correlation there.

Mahommes had a ton of college reps (over 1300 attempts) but his biggest question mark was his decision making and ability to pick up a pro style offense

Trey Lance has limited experience but has experience in an NFL style offense, one of his strengths is viewed to be his ball control (nearly 0 INTs for his career)

The only real comparison is that they are both extremely physically gifted, but the NFL has been drafting those kind of QBs early since day 1
