Considering what I'm hearing...

Cowherd claims NFL GMs are telling him he would be the #1 pick in the NFL draft if he could come out this year.

That he's the best prospect since Elway and Luck.

Hyperbole or truth?

Danny Kanell, who played 43 games as an NFL QB, goes as far as to say that teams would pay top dollar for Lawrence today, adding that $150 million is the type of contract he'd get.

I mean he didn’t start until a couple weeks into the season and he didn’t really catch fire until later than that

Draft status has nothing to do with the heisman

Nothing in the OP has anything to do with the heisman. Kyler Murray accounted for over 2,000 more yards of total offense and 24 more touchdowns than Lawrence

there will be plenty in 2019...

but the most outstanding player isn't always a quarterback. on a national champion. or even a CFP team

I’m sure you can find similar things written about Tua after last year’s NCG.

I thought the Browns were pretty happy with Mayfield.

Should Nick Foles have been NFL MVP last year?

Tua isnt prototype NFL QB like Lawrence is. Dude is a more athletic John Elway.

Definitely best QB prospect since Luck. Dude is as pure a passer as they come. Incredible talent

Because Kelly Bryant started the first 4, Lawrence was hurt against Syracuse, and then the schedule let up and didn’t allow for a Heisman moment.

Ultimately, Lawrence is a stud but he’s not the same quarterback as he was in September/October. He’s clearly more comfortable now due to understanding the college game and developing a feel with his receivers. In addition, his receivers are mainly young guys, who have also continued to mature through the season.

If the playoff version of Lawrence started the year, he probably does have a decent chance at the award, if Murray didn’t completely explode like he did. I imagine if Clemson can keep Lawrence healthy and protected with solid offensive line play, he likely has the best chance right now to win it next season.

But why is this really the first time everyone is talking about how awesome he is?

National Title game hyperbole?

Never heard this talk before this game about how great a QB Clemson had.

Comparing him to Luck?

We heard all year how fricking great Luck was and is or supposed to be...it was non-stop love-fest.

Clemson QB, suddenly he's Luck? Like he came out of the blue?
