The only reason they might still play is the players will want to keep playing. For 99% of them this tournament is the highlight of their lives so far.

The nba players it’s just a job and some regular season games. They don’t give a shite. They were leading the charge to suspend.

I still think they’ll suspend it or cancel it. But that’s a pretty big difference compared to the pros

Seems to me the only reason it hasn't been canceled yet is that they are trying to figure out some way to postpone and reschedule it first. Too much money involved for them to not at least entertain that possibility. It feels unlikely that the logistics of pulling that off will be feasible, so it probably still gets canceled anyways.

That's really the only reason I could see them continuing to play the conference tournaments. I'd bet a final decision comes sometime tomorrow either way (if not earlier).

They might be trying to figure out some sort of pre game testing too. Test all players on participating teams the day before each game. Quarantine as appropriate.

Not sure if that’s feasible for 68 teams though

The second one player tests positive it's game over for the entire tournament. Entire teams would have to quarantine if a single player tests positive.

instead of cancelling March madness;

They should play with no fans, and donate a large portion of what it makes of TV and donate it to the CDC or some shite. Everone wins.

You can’t “cancel life” banks are still working, and are much more important than sports during this hectic time
But with a lot of work from home.
