Yeah i don't think they had choice. If he walked, they'd still be significantly over the Cap with no opportunity to replace him. They are gonna be in Cap hell in a couple years

Smart is still on a rookie deal. He isn't a salary dump. Jae, AB, or Smart, who ever gets moved, will get moved for pieces. Not to dump salary.

I'd prefer to keep him out of the three. He's due for a massive pay increase next year. Don't know if the Cs can afford him. May be best to get something rather than letting him walk for nothing. Higher value in a trade than the other three I'd Imagine.
