The thing is if he didn't extend the ball it wouldn't have hit the ground.

He didn't finish it and completely secure the ball and come up with it all the way through.
Incomplete.
Incomplete.

If the ground can't cause a fumble then it shouldn't be able to cause an incompletion either. This is fricking stupid.
Pretty much.
the ground shouldnt be able to cause an incompletion? do you realize what you are saying? i dont think you mean that

No
It may not be fair but you must maintain possession all the way through. Its in the rules.
After last week the cowboys don't deserve to bitch about poor play calls.
Rolly Pack.

They just clarified on TV that he was going to the ground during the act (dive or not) and that it wasn't confirmed a football act. The steps weren't the issue. It's the "process". Which once the ball hit the ground and came out made it incomplete (ground can cause an incomplete pass vs. a fumble situation).
As said, shitty rule but it's a rule nonetheless.

Yea the rules are wrong in this instance because of intent. The dude caught the ball took 3 steps and had an elbow touch the ground before he reached for the goal line.
I hate the cowboys but he clearly had possession and was trying to score. Bad rule in this case.

The momentum of the catch brought him to the ground, it was ruled correctly.

the thing is that the rule is vague enough to where plays like this happen its spin spin spin rule rule rule and nothing gets changed
