It depends what you value more - talent or age/experience. Like 2012 Kentucky was probably more talented than 2007 Florida but our stars were 21-22 year olds vs theirs being 18-19 year olds.
Regardless though 2026 Michigan is near the top for me considering they pretty much destroyed everyone from start to finish.

Sean May was an absurdly dominant college player. He was the difference in that title game win vs Illinois.

Is this your very own personal shite list? The 2003 Syracuse Orange team was special. Carmelo Anthony, Gerry McNamara, and Billy Edelin were three freshmen starters on a championship team. Carmelo was just the third freshmen in history to win tournament MOP.
Kentucky was the best team in the country that year. 2003 Kentucky was a juggernaut. We would have rolled Syracuse, just like we did in 1996.

We ran into a unknown Marquette buzzsaw that year in the Elite 8 named Dwayne Wade who had an absolute unconscious night against us and dropped a fricking triple double. It was just one of those nights, which was inexcusable to our fan base at the time, but has significantly lessened with the benefit of hindsight about the caliber of player Dwayne Wade turned out to be.

Kentucky was the overall #1 seed that year for a reason. The best team in the country doesnt always win the NCAAT, and that's fine. That's the beauty of it sometimes.

But I'm not going to award a "best champion of the last 25 yrs" to someone who wasn't also absolutely filthy all season. To me the best champion is someone who was most dominant from start to finish all year.

To me....off the top of my head....05 UNC 07 Florida 12 Kentucky 18 Villanova all come to mind. I'd have to go back and look at all of them to have a definite list

On paper Arizona was the best team in 03 not UK.
That team had so much offensive firepower its mind blowing.

Obviously you weren't because you never made it to the Final Four. And Syracuse didn't get rolled in '96. That was a tight game until John Wallace fouled out in the last minute. Kentucky had nine NBA players on that roster. Syracuse had one.
