Tony Romo was on fire last night in the AFC championship game and I'm excited to listen to him in the Super Bowl. He was able to break down and predict plays even before they happened and also brings a lively personality to the booth. If he decides to stick with this long term and CBS (or whichever network may want to pick him up should CBS let him go), I think he has the opportunity to become one of the greatest broadcasters of all time. He makes the games he does more enjoyable. He's definitely the best color guy in the NFL today.

Romo has been absolutely terrific. Unqualified success.

He's one of the only TV announcers I prefer over radio.

He is very knowledgeable and does a really nice job of explaining schemes. It is one thing to say "cover 2, hi-low man coverage or stack formation". But it's great when a guy takes a moment to really break down what the design was meant for.

Gave him a lot of shite since he came on, but he put on a clinic last night.

Would’ve preferred a little less “ball don’t lie” type of shite but still

I'm not saying he should be a coach, but didn't it seem like KC didn't know what was coming and Romo did on those final drives with the passes over the middle by Brady?

Watch for Edelman over the middle.... Pass to Edelman over the middle.

Watch Gronk at the top, if that safety comes up, Brady is going to Gronk..... Safety comes up, Brady goes to Gronk.

Props to him being the first guy to actually do this, but I don’t think it makes him a fortune teller, just very in tune with modern offense vs defense

In 20 years when he’s doing this he’ll probably sound like Troy Aiken trying to explain an RPO

I want him on golf coverage. CBS misses Feherty, and could use a little personality.

Depends on how much he stays abreast of trends. If he's as passionate about the game as he appears, he'll research and keep up with the game as it evolves, especially since insider knowledge is his schtick.

I think it does. Just on that drive in OT the first two third downs he called the over the middle play with Edelman, then of the third 3rd down I was like Edelman over the middle again... everyone knows that, right? No. He sees Gronk and calls it. I was like well I'll be damned.

I really enjoy listening to Romo call the games. I gave him a lot of shite when he played for the Cowboys and didn’t particularly like him very much, but he does a really good job of calling the games.

Fact: The only time people don’t like him is when their team is losing

I just think Rodgers/manning level guys could see the same thing, just not as polished. They see those coverage and keys in the same way Brady is and that’s how he’s sitting there telling you what the play will be.

Every motion and formation is all window dressing to get the matchup you want and to see what the defense is doing pre snap, Romo is keying on that. Which is impressive obviously.

Let’s just not do the thing where we end up giving Romo 100 million dollars to coach because we like him on TV and think that makes him a savant

He then called exactly what the play would be when Brady killed the original play. He even knows the audibles

All these former QB/ announcers know these things. Romo is the only one to successfully verbalize them in the small window he has to speak. Another good thing about him is his excitement. He does not alienate fans, because the excitement was just as strong for KC when they had the ball.

Romo is only 38. He would probably be playing the best football of his career right now if his body/back would have held up.

A lot of people didn’t like him, but he was a damn good QB. He sees the field like a current QB with tons of experience, but he’s in the booth and capable of communicating and explaining things.

It's amazing how much better he is than Aikman, Troy can't hold a candle to Romo.
