Memphis/Utah was even worse. Memphis has put almost their full roster on the injured list and is playing with 10 day contract dudes

They need to kill the play-in game and cut like 20 games but it'll never happen

NBA needs relegation like soccer does. Probably the only way to fix the tanking by half the league is to threaten to send them down to the GLeague.

The league could shorten the season and solve basically every single competitive problem imaginable

They don’t have to. Just change the rules. For example use totals, not averages for the stat champions, and give bonuses to the top 3 or 5 in each category. Also, the teams with the top three regular season records should also get bonuses for all players like they do with that fugazi in season tournament.

This won't fix shite. Relegation would for sure fix the biggest problem

???

He played because he hadn’t hit 65 games yet. Never said anything about his performance. Simmer down big guy!

They're king Popovich started it after all.

Pop did it because his core was old as shite. That’s why it would say DNP-old.

We have shifted from that to sitting anybody with significant rotation minutes.

this has been going on at the end of the regular season in sports for decades.

The 2004 Eagles rested their starters for 2 weeks before the playoffs. It makes no sense to play guys in meaningless games.

you aren't gonna see Paul Skenes on the mound in the last 4 regular season games if the Pirates are already going to the playoffs either.

I absolutely hate how much the stars and even non-stars sit out in the NBA today. But I also understand strategically it's the right move so it's hard to blame them.

The game is a lot more physically demanding today.

At this point in the season it's no different than NFL teams sitting starters in week 18.

Makes more sense to give reps to the bench and evaluate prospects. Same in every sport.

Imagine how mad the fans would be if a big star got hurt in a meaningless regular season game.

I dont think it's fans complaining tho. Its people like OP just looking for a reason why "the NBA sucks now"

He has another post bitching about Augusta not inviting Trump to be a member

quote:

Trump should order military operations over Augusta next Sunday. All day jets flying overhead from Hilton Head to Norfolk with the flight path going over Augusta

Bingo. The majority of NBA posts are by posters who claim they hate the sport. Its quite entertaining. Deep down they like the sport but their team is sucking right now. So its a bandwagon thing to jump on the hate parade.

False. My team is awesome and Wemby is a generational talent. He, along with Fox, Castle, Keldon, Vassell, etc are likable stars. They are entertaining. But the vast majority of the league is not exciting. Talent distribution is rough, and the league lacks parity at the top. You have NBA franchises that are completely irrelevant, where other leagues seem to have a better rotation of almost everyone having a chance in a given time frame.

NBA stars seem to need load management rest moreso than athletes in other major sports.

The gameplay across the league has declined sharply in recent years. This was only magnified when Silver adjusted rules to favor even more offense. Speaking of problems, Silver sucks.

NBA has an issue with the momentum of the game completely stalling late in the 4th quarter via fouls and reviews. Free throw hunters are a problem.

These issues are not “new” to the league, but they have been getting worse in recent years. This board, myself included, used to kick it into high gear come playoff time. Post-COVID, the interest has waned.

Football plays 17 games, once per week

Baseball plays 162 but don’t run the whole time playing

NBA plays 82 games. Its not even comparable the physical effort needed in NBA vs other 2 big sports.

Is this something that is measurable? Is there data showing this as fact?
