Bum, bum, and bum.

Sorry that you're about to pay Robinson Cano to drag his nuts all over your poverty franchise.

The Mets haven't "gone the other" direction. We've been playing > .500 ball since June after losing one of the top pitchers in baseball. Add that onto the fact the best player in the league will be back in a matter of days. These aren't excuses, just a realistic idea that Mets best baseball is ahead. The Braves have been scorching hot and are a very good club, inarguably a better team at the moment, but I think that'll flip again soon

But here we stand, and the Braves are going in one direction, while the Mets have gone the other. The Braves offense, aside from a couple of guys missing earlier in the year, just vastly underperformed. They now have it figured out. The Mets offense got off to a pretty fluky start, and they are regressing back to what they really are.

The Mets have been fine, we just have been absolutely shredding the mostly shite teams we've been playing

No.

Inarguably, the Braves are the better team with the better 1-26 roster, with the far better lineup and the deeper rotation and deeper bullpen.

Hey, you're the one that went all in on the Mets back in March and said the Braves might not even make the playoffs.

If you can't deal w/the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Here comes the rationalization.

Playing .500 ball against competition that hasn't been that strong, on the whole, for the Mets, either, is certainly what I call going in the other direction. Your team is regressing. The opposite of progression is regression. I don't know how much more clearly to make that point.

And saying you've lost one of the top pitchers in baseball as an excuse for losing 9 games off your lead in barely over a month, is most certainly an excuse. I gave you the laundry list of Braves injuries, that haven't stopped them from doing what they've done. Mike Soroka is coming back soon for the Braves, too, and I completely forgot to mention that we've been without Ozzie Albies for weeks.

At best, the greatest starting pitcher can still only help you win 1 in every 5 games.

I really don't get why they're so adamant that DeGrom's return will suddenly lead to an explosion of wins.

And no one is afraid of Max S., he's another year older and coming off an October that featured dead arm issues. He can look good now, but I have strong doubts about his durability down the stretch.

Outside of two 2 game series against the Astros (which the Mets lost all 4 games), the Mets schedule has been little to no better than the Braves', and they've been a .500 team. That's not "fine". Two Marlins misplays in the 10th inning on Saturday spared the Mets from losing 3 of 4 at home to them, in their latest showing of being "fine".

Dodgers Padres angels Brewers Astros and a Marlins team that’s competing is tougher than what the Braves faced in June, I don’t see how anyone can look at it being objective and say otherwise. Unless that person were talking out of their arse.
