Because there’s nothing wrong with the titans stadium. Titans stadium is probably better then most college stadiums, and by most I mean 90%. But when you compare it to Jerry World, the new Vegas stadium, etc. it is ‘dated’ in that its not a top 25 stadium in the world.
This is what doesn't make sense to me. It would make sense if the entirety of the NFL was located in Dallas, and Nissan was competing directly with AT&T and Mercedes for fans each Sunday but that's not the case. No one is not showing up because a stadium 700 miles away is nicer

I agree with you, but these owners live in their own bubble, and they are competing with each other.

I wonder if/when the Panthers and the Jaguars will be trying to suck a new stadium out of their cities' residents....

The only way a new stadium in Nashville makes any sense at all is if it were a dome/retractable dome that could possibly put them in rotation for Super Bowls and CFP Championship games. God knows with the weather Nashville can get in January/February they can't host those with an open air stadium.

$1.8 billion just to renovate? Smells like BS to me.

Exactly what I was going to say. Holy shite.
AT&T Stadium cost $1.3B to build from the dirt up.

they're saying it'll cost 1.8B through 2039 to maintain versus 2.2B for new one now.
Okay but what's the maintenance cost on the new stadium?

David Tepper (billionaire owner of the Panthers) is already making noise about wanting a new stadium. And they just spent a ton renovating the current stadium for the new MLS team to play there.
So freaking ridiculous that elected officials play this game.

Khan just had a $400 million development approved last October for the area around the stadium. He is fronting $300 million of that.

I bet St. Louis would take them.

As said they are competing for national events like Super Bowls and NCAA tournaments. For the owners it’s about fame and fortune. Plus, if the tax payers and city front most of the bill and make their money back with bonds, the owner now has a better attraction to make more profit.
