Time to ask: Anyone not watching the Super Bowl tonight?

I haven't watched it since 2003

I am not an NFL fan at all so I could care less. The past 10 years I have done other things on Super Bowl Sunday. In college I would always work that night on purpose because we would get paid more, and recently I have gone to see a movie in nearly empty theatres and thus free of the riff raff.

What if you weren't a fan of any sport at all, could you still care less than you currently do?

More of a social event than a sporting event for most. Any time I can get together with friends and have a good time, count me in.

This is how I have felt about baseball after the Rangers have been eliminated over the past 2 seasons.

Before the Rangers made their playoff runs I could watch every playoff game, now when they are eliminated its like a sour grapes sore loser effect where I can't watch.

But for the Super Bowl not only do I care, but one thing I don't like is how much hype the Super Bowl gets, and how much attention is devoted to things other than the game. Such as commercials, halftime shows, pregame shows, etc.

At least for the World Series/NBA Finals/etc. you get the damn game and not all of the worthless filler and buildup.

I think there's a lot of people that watch it just to fit in. On the other hand, there are people like you who don't watch just to feel cool and different.

You are the hipster of sports fans

How many 100's of people have you proudly told this since 2003?

People like you love to be different just to be able to say "look at me, I'm different"

You seem like a douchey hipster since you know the last year you watched it and you intentionally make plans during it so you can brag about not watching it

I'm not a big NFL fan anymore, but it's turned mainly into just regular season play. Once college football ends and NFL playoffs begin I get into it.

I'll have it on, but will be dealing with my 1 year old throughout.
