Looking at his Wikipedia page just now, he was drafted 4th overall in 1972 by the St. Louis Cardinals and played until 1982. 4x pro bowler, 1x 2nd Team All Pro in 1978, and is in the Vikings Ring of Honor.
I mean as a kid watching Inside Stuff in the 90s it never registered to me that he was playing pro football at the same time as old guys like Bradshaw, Staubach, Namath, etc.
