Did you ever see Jack play. He said himself after playing with Tiger that he is the best golfer ever without doubt.
I saw an interview with Nickalaus on this subject and he said, in effect, that it would be an interesting matchup and that there's no way to predict who would win. He said both were great fairway players and both were great putters. Jack gave Tiger the edge in chipping and he gave himself the edge in driving.
My feeling watcing the interview what that he thought that in his prime he could take Tiger bt he was too modest to say it.

I dont have a link but I remember them playing together at one of Jacks last events. I believe it was a major, maybe the British or US open. Tiger was just killing it that week and Jack made the comment that Tiger can do things no other golfer ever could do. He said that Ive never been that good. Awesome praise coming from Nicklaus, totally out of character for him.
Its differnt eras and I watched them both in their primes. The two best NO DOUBT.

I don't recall Jack saying it either. If you could read Jack's mind I'm certain it would reflect I'm #1 until Tiger gets #19.

Yea. I don't think Tiger can turn on a switch just because a player says something about him that is actually true. He has done it in the past, but his life was completely different then. It sure would make for an interesting Ryder Cup if Tiger's on the team.
