It really is a shame. Regardless on anyone's opinion of him, when he's playing well, the game is better.

his story is becoming embarrassingly sad

Golf has fallen off a cliff since Tiger's decline. Other than the Master's, I can't remember the last time I watched a tournament on Sunday.

Hoeful he'll be back and be competitive. I am still in the "I think he has at least another major in him" camp, but even if he's not, just to have him in contention would be nice for a change.
Regardless of personal feelings toward him, it sucks to see an athlete at the top of his game, and one of the best in history, deteriorate so badly.

So why does he suck now? After his wife caught him cheating she nailed him in the legs with a golf club and ruined his career or something?

How so? I pretty much stopped watching golf when he was dominating because it was no longer interesting to me. Now there are much more competitive tournaments (last weekend notwithstanding) and I think the golf is more interesting. When he was in his prime, it was boring because if he was playing well, he won. That said, I do hope he returns to some sort of form and is competitive again. I just don't want to see him (or Rory or anybody else) dominate the way he did 10-20 years ago.

I'm a tiger fan and completely disagree with this. I probably watch more golf now, and the young talent in the game is great.

It was a mental hurdle for him to get over all of that. But he seemed to do so, winning 5 tournaments in 2013, regaining his #1 ranking, and being named player of the year.
At this point the guy just can't stay healthy. He apparently has the back of a 70 year old.

Not really. Maybe for the passing fans who would stop and watch only when Tiger is playing. But overall, it's not down and definitely not falling off a cliff.

Im glad that tPOS is gone.
People either forget his sickening massive ego(His dad fostered that and Tiger embraced his god-like persona) or fans actually liked it.
He deserves his embarrassing fall and I enjoy seeing it and enjoy seeing the massive butthurt his fans have about it.

Then you are the exception and not the rule. When he was on he was only winning 25% of the tournaments he was playing. There was plenty of drama for Tiger lovers and haters.
Now golf is completely boring. Who cares if Bubba wins? It just as well be Nascar or professional soccer now.

Tiger is totally unique in the history of golf. People watch him on TV for two reasons...they love him and want to see him win. They hate him and want to see him crash and burn because he is a POS. I'm in the latter group. If it's a major I'm watching. If it's other than a major I don't watch unless Tiger is playing.

The only thing I can think of is Peyton Manning returning from his injury year off, changing his throwing motion to Tebow's suck arse release, and becomming Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf.

Name a top tier athlete at the top of their game that doesn't have a god like ego.

Nobody topped Tiger. Many of your top dogs have massive egos, but what Tiger and his dad thought was at levels not seen before. All before Tiger became #1.
