Writing off a game by virtue of the score being scoreless is a weird way of talking about a sport.

Is it really though???

Yes.

The first Fury-Wilder fight ended in a draw.

Are you saying it wasn't an entertaining fight because it ended in a tie?

It was the most entertaining fight of the 3 they had

And I thought both 0-0 ties and the US-Wales 1-1 tie were far more interesting and exciting games to watch than the shite the NFL put on the field with the Broncos-Raiders.

Honestly, the NFL this year has been a very poor product. Boring as hell.

Two full days into the World Cup has given us more entertaining games than 11 weeks of the NFL so far.

Can't remember the last time the NFL has been this bad.

wait till next game, when teams only need a point to advance. or game where a tie and both teams advance, and they play kick the ball around, dont try to score

Fine with that, though if you win your group you get what usually is a little easier matchup vs a runner up as opposed to being the runner up and having to face a group winner

Why do you even post here? You consistently have some of the absolute dumbest, worst takes on this board.

This guy doesn't know all group teams play at the same time to avoid this exact scenario.

CFB has the most artificial, farcical system to break ties. What CFB OT is isn't even football.

the funniest thing in these threads is always the sense of superiority that soccer fans get from somewhere. Like Americans at-large aren’t capable of understanding such a sophisticated sport.

This thread is littered with Americans that don't get it, so perhaps it's warranted.

Also equally funny you got all that out of a post critical of CFB overtime, which almost everyone agrees is ridiculous.

U fricking idiot, they know the score of the other games.

Yeah, they play behind closed doors, so no one knows the score or outcome till thew whistle blows.

How do you know you need a tie if the other game has a score late? Let's also completely ignore goal differential while we're at it. But yea, I'm the idiot.

And even if there is a scenario where one game is better off playing to a draw, that's no different than NFL or NBA teams resting starters when post season seeding is already determined.

No commercials during games makes soccer a superior viewing experience. Funny how Americans who incessantly bitch about commercials during football games never mention that while they complain about soccer.

There's one thing that drives me crazy about soccer and its not ties:

Its time.

It makes no fricking sense whatsoever and is so frustratingly stupid and arbitrary.

You mean to tell me you have these complicated computers that can reconstruct an Offside...but can't just hit pause on a clock?

No, let's just let it run instead for no reason while a guy is flopping around on the ground like a dying fish for getting bumped, and then add an arbitrary amount of time on at the end that really isn't representative of the exact time at all, that could decide the biggest matches in the world.

Makes total sense.

The constant running clock is how they can air full games with no commercials.
