What does everyone here think about Tua's potential if he stays in Miami? I ask this because I have a pretty rare Tua rookie card that I am not sure what I want to do with (grade/sell, grade/keep, or sell raw)

Limited. Will never be more than average to slightly above. Will never demand the big second contract.

I'd trade it. He's got Matt Leinart written all over him, and it's not just because he's a lefty.

Limited talent in his supporting cast and his OC got canned, so we will have to wait and see. Tua was also benched 3 times in favor of other quarterbacks so that’s kind of alarming as a rookie.

Miami won a lot of games through defense in 2020.

High floor, middle of the road ceiling. I thought Fitzmagic was the better QB this past season. Give him another season or two. I would keep the card and see how he turns out say 5 years from now.

ETA: See if you can get the current estimated value of the card right now. That may change my decision of what to do with it

He has one skill that can save his career, and that’s accuracy. That said his arm didn’t look strong last year.

The thing that always bothered me, even when he was at Bama, is that he is a one read QB and struggled with post snap reads. That shite doesn’t fly in the NFL. Clemson totally exposed that in the Championship game when we got run out of the stadium.

This year will be interesting, Chan Gailey was a horrible match for Tua as an OC. He’s an old school spread type OC. The only thing he was known for was popularizing the 5 wide set when he was in Pittsburgh way back in the 90’s. If they bring in an OC (maybe they already hired someone, I haven’t been paying attention) that is more an RPO kind of coach and get some weapons, any weapons, maybe he can make a turn around. He needs to get healthier as well, I’m not sure he was fully recovered last year.

At this point, he’s kind of a longshot. Getting pulled from multiple games, arm not looking like it has good pop and struggling with reading defenses makes for a short career in the NFL.

Edit: As for the card, you’d be crazy to unload it now. At least wait for next year and see if he gets a hot couple of games before you unload it. The only way the card goes lower in value is if he bombs early and fast next year.

0%. He is not good at QB in the NFL. He will be a bust.

He doesn't have what it takes. He's smart amd accurate but the negatives outweigh that. He's small, average arm, below average speed and most of all injury prone

He sucks. It's crazy people don't see this.

The injury scares me. It is so rare for someone to be a pro athlete with a hip replacement. I just don't see how he can play long term and it is a huge risk. I hope it works out for him. But I would have taken the insurance money and found a new career..

I will say I really liked Tua's potential coming out of college, he's not near the same player he was before the injury. I agree that Fitz seemed like the better QB this year to me.

I think current comps are $900-$1400 raw.

Well, when you get 90+ players drafted in a decade, not all of them work out.

I wouldn’t consider late round picks busts. They never had high ceilings to begin with. I’m talking about first rounders from Alabama that have a tendency to not work out.
