I think he's a bit more versatile than you give him credit for (70% finisher at the rim), but yes I absolutely agree that he should spend the hefty majority of his time shooting

Dekker is actually considered a very good athlete by NBA scouts. Nobody has ever said anyhing negative about his athleticism, in fact they always gush over how athletic he is.

And Kaminsky is the type of player that will have a role on any team he goes to due to his height and shooting abilty. I agree with that. He's the safer pick, sure. But I think Dekker has a higher ceiling than Frank. He's not as safe a pick as Frank is, but he could def end up being the better NBA player.

And Dekker was 6'9 at the Nike / LBJ Skills camp. He also dominated that camp and was said to be the consensus best player there

I like his game a lot, but like I said, Big 10 isn't the NBA. Im not trying to be racist but it generally doesn't translate for white guys. He'll be facing the most athletic players in the league night in night out if he is going to play on a wing.

Im just giving the NBA the benefit of the doubt here . Guys like Chandler Parsons give me hope though. So we shall see.

Dekker isn't quite the mismatch that Parsons is because of his height.
What do you mean? They're both listed as 6' 9".

Dekker made 5 of 6 three pointers vs ARIZONA last week! He can shoot the rock...60-60 tie tonight...DAGGER...63-60

Great athlete that can JUMP out of the gym! Limited athletically??? You have NO CLUE!!

Dekker was MVP at the LeBron James Skills Camp last Summer

Parsons is a fair comparison for now

I think he's a very good college player in Bo Ryan's system. I could be wrong but I just think he will struggle to guard SFs in the NBA. It's a completely different level of play.

As a comparison, Deshaun Thomas was the B1G player of the year and could score at will inside and out. But he's only 6'7" and an NBA tweener so is playing overseas.

I get what you mean on a broad level but that doesn't mean he can't be used at the very least as a role player in the right situation.

I don't think he'll be as good as Hayward. Hayward is a lot quicker than Dekker. No way could Dekker play spot minutes in the NBA as a 2.

He seems closer to Singler than Hayward, if we're going to look at white forwards from the past few years.

None of these are negative comparisons though. I'm sure 2 weeks ago, Dekker would have been flattered by these.

That could be. He definitely improved his stock in the tourney.

Plays in Bo Ryan's system, doesn't force his shot on offense, only shoots 10shots per game.

Karl Anthony Towns is considered the #1 or #2 pick in the draft and a very very good NBA prospect and he scores 10ppg.

Hell, Anthony Davis only scored 14ppg in college and we all know the type of prospect / player he was.

Dekker is Tom Chambers 2.0

Frank the Tank will have a nice career as a stretch 4.

Yeah, but Dekker is basically 21 and with 3 years of experience. Until last week, he wasn't on anyone's draft board. He really wasn't. I think now he'll go pro though, and he should, since this could be his peak stock.

Towns is 19.5, Davis turned 19 during the tournament.
