Sometimes the team who wants it more still loses because the talent level of the team who wants it less is so much higher than that of the team who wants it more.

The one I hate even more is, "It's the playoffs, they're letting them play!" Which is code for we chose the best teams based on this season and to find out which one is supposed to be the very best of that group we changed the rulebook for some unknown reason.

And saying similar to that, such as "It all will boil down to which team wants to win more"
That might be dumb

sure it is overused, but sometimes it is true. Look at the Spurs-Heat series from two years ago. The Spurs clearly were on a mission.

It's an overused cliche sure but there is no way anyone that has ever played sports thinks every player and every team is truly equally dedicated to winning.

Exactly, but you'll never hear a announcer say that.

In regular season games, sure. Problem is you'll see an NFL playoff game or game 7 of an NBA series and hear announcer say this, which is just silly.

bullshite. It's what is said by a coach or media or fanbase when their team is beaten by an inferior team. Being outhustled is a real thing.

Can never say a team "choked" or has no "heart". But this is a backhanded way of saying the same thing.

Now if you are talking this past AFCCG for example? Then yes it is bullshite. That was two pretty equal teams out there. One just outplayed the other. OR was better that day.

And that's where you'll hear it a lot. So silly

Absolutely. You see it in college basketball during the regular season on a decently regular basis. Higher ranked team comes into a game coasting (especially if they're looking ahead to the next game) against a lower ranked/unranked team that has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

From a talent perspective on paper the higher ranked team shouldn't get out hustled/out played by the lower ranked team, but it legitimately happens when the lower ranked/unranked team "wants it more".
