I don't know what's the trend around the country. But fwiw, Atlanta really supports its MLS team. I went to one game and that stadium was packed and rocking. Very fun. From what I've heard most of there games usuallt end up sold out. I'm not sure if the Falcons usually sell out their games.

It's as simple as good ownership.

LA Galaxy, Seattle Sounders, and Atlanta United are really well run franchises. They aren't cheap about retaining players and haven't asked for an exorbitant amount in stadium financing.

Spanos has alienated much of the SoCal fanbase.

.

As much as this board hates it, soccer is becoming a legit sport in this country.

Hispanic fans are passionate about soccer in L.A. and in general. L.A. has the largest illegal population and that is the sport they know and turn out in droves. While average L.A. sports fan mixes their sporadic leave of abscence from the beach or job to NBA, NHL, NFL and Soccer.

Oddly you left out MLB and the Dodgers. Of the big four professional leagues in LA I would argue the Hispanic community supports MLB and especially the Dodgers.

People in LA didn't ask for the Chargers. At least the Rams made sense, given their history with the city. And before anyone points out that the Chargers started off as a LA team, people in LA do not see them as their team especially with the Raiders being in the same division. Hell, Philip Rivers made a big stink about moving and weakly threatened to not go to LA while relocation was being discussed.

Sometimes I wonder if an expansion team would have been better for LA than the Chargers relocating and trying to fit in.

LA is a pitiful sports town. The Rams and Chargers will phase themselves out within 5-10 years. The new Hollywood Park stadium at game time will look like Tiger stadium, in the 3rd quarter.

Didn’t Chargers raise ticket prices last year too?
