Just reading some comments from Ole Miss people on X, he wants $1M per. That’s insane, if true.

I don’t see how anyone can still think the transfer portal was a good idea

Transfer portal makes sense for running backs, corners, and positions that are mostly developed by their sophomore year of college. Lots of other guys are going to frick themselves over at QB, DE, OT, etc where you need some stability and at least 3 years to develop.

Judkins is asking for almost 1.5 million dollars. That’s easily the highest paid running back in college football. The rumor amount Ollie Gordon got from Oklahoma State was 500,000. Ole Miss was gonna pay Judkins almost double what Ollie Gordon got from Oklahoma State.

The QB movement in particular is just insane and can’t be good for the quality of play in the sport as a whole

He won't get it. He just 1 year left. (2, but I'm sure he's bouncing after next year). There's no school who could afford to give him 1.5 where the difference between Judkins and the guys they currently have is the difference between them winning the NC or not. Individual RBs have been devalued in the NFL, and they have been in CFB as well. Though maybe not quite as much as the NFL. The position still has value, but there are very few individual players who are elite enough to make a significant difference in wins and losses. Certainly not $1.5 million worth.

I think. Maybe I'm wrong. Like I said, uncharted territory. But I'd be shocked if he got anywhere near 1.5. Especially since he's likely a 1 and done.

There are lots of NFL backs not making $1.5 mil a year. The position is devalued.

NFL running backs are devalued a lot because their shelf life is so short, generally speaking. That isn't really a variable college teams have to worry about. An elite running back has huge value in the college game.

I don't see how coaches are going to want to put up with it for very long.

Imagine every low to mid tier school out there, barely scraping by as it is... you develop kids, have them for a minute, and big programs steal them. Big programs assume NO RISK any more.

Little guys are stuck in constant roster hell.

If I was a CFB coach, no way does Judkins get even $500K from me. 550+ carries the last two seasons has me wondering if he has anything left.

I'm thinking Kiffin had to jump through hoops to keep him last season and once it started again Kiffin probably said f it, you want out, then go

I’m happy for Judkins. I hope he gets a big bag of money. It’s not like NFL teams are paying RB’s well

Johnathan Taylor had 627 his last 2 years at Wisconsin, then put up back to back 1000 yard seasons with the Colts on 554 carries.

These guys don't get burnt out quite as quick as you're thinking.

imo he isn't worlds better than McCord but at least Day will call pass plays with him in there, unlike what he refused to do with Brown and Kienholz.

And Brown looks stupid with #33

Did you not watch the bowl game where Kienholtz dropped back frantically EVERY pass play and heaved it up each time?

Not saying the play calling was/is great but watching that was rough.

Day did not do a damn thing to help his QBs at all, no easy passes, no nothing to help with the pass rush.

Because Missouri was immediately getting pressure on over half of the passing snaps.
