I think he's worth the $19 million per annum, relatively speaking; but those years on the contracts these days are wild.

Out of the NL at least and that locks up our compensatory pick.

Is Billy Hamilton starting in centerfield now?

He should be. If we move phillips he will play 2nd.

Choo has a better chance to age well than most because his best skill isn't as affected as much by getting older, though the lack of power against lefties is a concern of course

I think this is a great deal for the Rangers. Even if he isn't worth the money at the end of the deal, there's a great chance he outperforms it for the first couple of years.

Moving Choo back to a corner outfield spot makes him a solid MVP candidate

That lineup looks like something Wash would use, even though Andrus shouldn't be batting second under any circumstances.

He's a prototypical 2 hole hitter. He's an excellent bunter and does a good job going the other way. He's perfect for hit an runs.

Really interested to see what Hamilton does next year. I doubt he'll hit enough to make his speed a factor, but if he does look out.

I don't know what Price is planning to do, but I think Hamilton would provide more value hitting 8th than hitting lead off

He's the prototypical traditional number 2 hitter I guess. But really it should be your best hitter who hits second, and Andrus is not a good hitter...like most people who fit the description of prototypical number 2 hitter

He's the Rangers best option there. They can't afford to hit Martin and Choo 1-2. Andrus is still maturing as a hitter. He had an excellent 2nd half last season..

I'd go something like

Choo
Beltre
Prince
Rios
Profar
Soto
Moreland/please God someone else
Martin
Andrus

Beltre in the 2 hole... ew. Why decrease his RBI opportunities? Profar in the 5 hole?

To increase total runs. More at bats for good hitters = more runs/overall RBI opportunities.

If Profar becomes the star he has the chance of becoming, he'd be a great two hole hitter, then you could shift everyone down one

I agree baseball has been fascinated by tradition, guy is fast and swipe 40 bases put him in lead off spot despite his .269 avg, .310 OBP, and only taking 4 pitchers per at bat....

Nah, keep beltre in the third spot. Have two of the faster players hit one and two. Still not sure whether it should be choo or Elvis who leads off. And end the lineup with profar and Martin. Quite a bit of speed in the lineup still.
