ok. and? ask any snowboarder and they will say shaun white.

The point is that having all of your peers say you are the best doesn't mean shite in cross sport comparisons

OK, im done guys. this is all opinions. their is no point for any of us to argue or waste time on something that is opinion. I have work I actually need to get done. Thanks for all the great point of views. Thank God for sports. What else would we argue about? Polictics?

Phelps had the 3rd fastest split out of the 4 guys that won gold on the 4 x 100 relay team.

I didn't read the whole thread, so this may have been covered, but Phelps was the lead off swimmer, meaning he had a flat start, which is going to be slower than the three swimmers that come after him, that's where his being third comes in.

Phelps 100 freestyle time in the relay set the american record, and he was only a tenth or so behind the australian next to him that set the WR.

I think this whole discussion is retarded. Golf and swimming could not be more different, and to compare the two is asinine, but to each his own.

Easy way to determine more dominant.....

If you life depends on
1) Tiger winning a golf tourny
2) Phelps winning a swim match

Who do you take with your life on the line? That would be the answer to who is more dominant.

Yep, I posted that in the other thread and agree completely.

You ask their peers.

And ask swimmers who's the most dominant swimmer they will all say Phelps.

Tiger and Phelps are both dominant. Right now, I'd just rank Phelps a little ahead.

The question needs to be:

"when in their prime, who is the best golfer in the world?"

"when in their prime, who is the best tennis player in the world?"

Totally fair. you ask people who is the best WR in history, all of them will not say Jerry Rice. thats our point. You proved it for us.

And you ask people who is the best golfer of all time, not all of them will say Tiger.

STFU. Your post are always horrible. If your little pussy arse would have put $$$ where your mouth was during the US OPen, you would have lost $$$ to me on the Tiger bet. I gave you the Field after Friday's round. I had Tiger. You lose, like i told you you would after fridays round. I think our bet was no posting for 1 month. I forgot about that. So, STFU and quit posting.

I do like Jack, but that's not why I don't like Tiger. Isn't that "who do you think's more likely to win" a good argument for dominance, though?

GET OVER IT! That happened TWO months ago. Are you seriously bringing this up again?

BTW, you didn't give me the field, you gave me my choice of five golfers, one of which I picked was one shot away TWICE from winning.

And I did propose that bet, and you stupidly didn't accept it, so I'll keep on posting, thank you.

I'm sure you've never made a wrong prediction in your life.

You know before going in their are probably only 3 guys that have a shot to beat phelps. Before the race even starts you know that half of the guys arent capable of beating him. They arent physically that big or fast. When Tiger starts a golf tourney, all of them are capabale of being him but they dont. So you tell me who is more dominating. Phelps has to beat 2 guys, Tiger has to beat 155. Who the frick you think I am going to pick if my life depends on it?

I would pick myself to make a free throw before phelps or tiger winning their respective sports so your analogy is actually fricking horrible.

Before the race starts tonight, you know their are 7-8 guys that have NO shot at beating phelps. NO SHOT what so ever. When Tiger plays in a golf tourney, their are obviously a couple of guys you can count out b/c they have yet to win anything but their are 50-60 guys that have a legimate shot to win, and yet they STILL DONT.

Like i said, its a dumb argument. Its all in opinion. I play golf alot so I will likely say Tiger. Someone that swims alot will proby say Phelps b/c they realize how hard swimming is. A tennis player will probably say Federer. You get my drift.

Phelps has to beat 1-2 guys when he races. Like the guy on the talk show said earlier. When the swim takes place everyone there and everyone watching knows their are 5-6 guys who have no shot at the gold medal.

Key word. WAS. Tiger had to birdie 18 both days and did. Thats fricking dominate and clutch, and then went on to win.(with a torn ACL)

If Lezack doesnt swim the last leg in 46.0 and make the greatest comeback ever to win Phelps 2nd gold for him are we even having this discussion today?

I am a huge Phelps fan. I hope he wins every goal in WR breaking time. I just dont think you can compare him to Tiger Woods. You are using 8 races int he course of 10 days.

Like you said, it's just opinion. You have yours, I have mine. I think both are very dominant, but Phelps more so.

Doesn't that go along with the fact that he's more dominant, though. Oh well. Doesn't matter, just a fun, hypothetical debate.

Their bodies just arent capable of swimming that fast. Is that their fault? Phelps is gifted with along of about 2-3 other guys who can swim that fast. Tiger plays a sport where every guy there is supposedly suppose to have a chance to beat him. You get my drift. Thats why I think Tiger is more dominant

So how exactly does that discredit his dominance again?

Oh, that's right, he so fricking good at what he does that no one else has a chance to win. Nope, not very dominant at all, that guy.

Would you pick yourself making a free throw against Calvin Murphy making a free throw in his prime?

Horrible anagolgy. That wasnt the scenario. It was not against the named athlete in his sport. It was phelps swimming or Tiger golfing. Not against tiger or against phelps.

Thats like saying I would pick myself against you in being gay? No way. You win that hands down everytime. Super dominant. Thats the only thing I would let my life rely on. Your gayness
