Would love to see someone argue that is PI and then complain about the cooks PIs

They missed calls on both sides. They let both sides play fairly penalty free. That's about as fair as you can get it.

I would have to disagree with you that they let both sides play fairly penalty free.

What do you mean? The 4th and 12 play? That was nowhere near interference

I neversaid it was or wasnt PI. I just would have liked to see another angle on that play.

The pass interference on Bouye where Cooks was out of bounds was a horrible call.

At the very least they should be able to review it.

3 in play penalties to 1 in play penalties.

I think give that option to any coach for any game and they'll take it.

Receivers have caught on too. They create seperation with their hands all throughout the route leaving the defender no choice but to get handsy as well just to keep up with them. Early in the Saints/Vikings game Diggs even grabbed the defenders wrist, pulled it into his body, fell to the ground and got the call.

Receivers have always gotten away with a ton of illegal contact. It doesn't take much force to create separation when applied in the same direction of the defender's own momentum.

I mean he was out of bounds because Bouye dragged him there but agree to disagree

If one PI call is the basis of the conspiracy argument I'd say there isn't much of a leg to stand on.

If you want a reason for the Jags loss, I'd look more to them having the ball for 3 possessions on the 4th where they started with a double digit lead and Fournette having next to no yards and Bortles going 2-7 passing

I'm not arguing that there's any conspiracy. I'm just saying refs miss calls and that was a glaring one. I've watched that play several times and that's not interference. If anything, it's illegal contact.

Now you are just exaggarating with the "Bouye dragged him there" bit. They were handfighting on a throw that was probably never meant to be a catch. Brady/Patriots have mastered the "Throw it 40 yards and take the spot foul for a cornerback running into the receive" play.

I don't think you'll find anyone who doesn't question the Jaguars play calling with 2 timeouts/1 minute left in the game and the second half.

Pretty sure illegal contact can only be called if the ball isn't in the air yet

They really don't do this often. 5-6 teams have created more DPI calls this season than the Pats. And the Pats get called for more OPI calls than any other team in the league. If that is their offensive strategy, they are not very good at it.

Joe Flacco did it all the way to a Super Bowl win, though some pretty easy research will tell you the Pats have the most OPIs in the league and not the most PIs in the league. :/

That's just apart of the lore of Flacco being elite.

That's fine. Wildtigercat pointed this and everything seems pretty standard.

Again, I'm not saying that Jacksonville deserved to win the game. But some of the calls and missed calls were strange. Ultimately, I don't think spot fouls are good thing for the NFL. I also believe across the board in sports (College & Pro) that officials have it pretty easy and should have to further explain their calls in some manner.

I can agree with most of that. It's just super annoying to have the NFL constantly stealing draft picks only to have other fan bases saying somehow they just want to give the Patriots a leg up for some reason.

Worse than auto first downs?

Spot of foul PI
Personal foul by team a and 5 yard penalty by team result in offsetting penalties
Auto first downs

All fricking terrible and need to be done with.

Especially the offsetting penalties. Why should a 15 yard penalty and a 5 yard penalty ever offset? Just take up the difference.

Keep in mind, the refs are enforcing new rules put in place by the league. They don't always get it right but that's how the NFL wants it called.

Certain fans want high scoring games & this is the result. You neuter defenses with these ticky tack PI calls and allow receivers to run routes virtually unmolested.

The reason I scoff at the GOAT talk for any receivers & QBs when today's players play under much different and very offensive friendly rules.

How about the player holding gronks jersey?
That was missed...drive ends.

How about we give both teams multiple views of cameras and 3 claims per game.
If the claim holds up, you get two more.
No refs.

Maybe if Jax threw the ball they could have gotten a PI cal...maybe.

You can't run a receiver out of bounds, that is the foul, there wasn't any actual PI, that is what has everybody in a tizzy, they don't know the rules. I called the foul live when watching, if you didn't have that rule every DB would just run each WR out of bound every play, because guess what, it's a penalty to be the first off player once out of bounds and come back in and touch the ball. Come on people, know the rules.

As for Gronk, should it have been a penalty, NO, is it in today's game, you betcha. In college that DB would have also been tossed. They call that bull shite in football all the time now, and what was the real result.... Gronk missed 1/2 a game.

Suck it up Jax you lost to the Champs, who doesn't.
