We played LaTour in this. Fun to have to factor wind into putts. 475 yard par 4 straight into the teeth of it I hit driver, 3w, 7i and barely got on

I'm with you...Playing golf in extreme conditions like that (while not in a tournament) is awesome. The absurdity of the shots you have to hit and the places you have to aim is pretty entertaining.
Hitting full SW in to a 30-40 mph wind and watching the ball spin back 10-15 yds is fun too.

It wasn't cold IIRC, so I'm sure they were miserable this morning.

I played the Friday hurricane Ike blew in and the wind was sick. Drove the green on 10....on 2 I had85 yds in and hit a full 8 iron and it ended up 8 yards short of the green.

Tiger woods has always been able to restart his career and move on...but this morning is the defining point where he will not be able to restart and move on. Just like he is restarting this morning and will not make the cut, his career restarting this time will not make another major win.

seems like a simple rules change would make play possible ... no penalty for the ball moving if you've addressed it in windy conditions, as determined by the organization running the event ... replace to the original position and go ...

What about the putt you hit that won't stop until it leaves the green. That rule won't help that situation.
