NY Jets sign another quarterback. He'd be the best on roster.

The Denver Post expects the Broncos to draft a running back in the first three rounds.
The Post even suggests they could take one with the 28th overall pick. (It'd presumably be Alabama's Eddie Lacy.) Regardless, the writing is on the wall for Willis McGahee in Denver. Owed a $2.5 million non-guaranteed base salary, 31-year-old McGahee figures to be released before or just after April's draft.

VP of Football Operations John Elway confirmed Thursday that the Broncos will not back down from their pay-cut request of Elvis Dumervil.
Due $12 million, Dumervil has lost even more leverage after Cliff Avril accepted a deal worth $7.5 million annually and Michael Bennett only got $5 million. "I hate having to do it, in the position I'm in," Elway said. "But I've got to do what's best for this football team ... Especially when you look at the market and what's out there now. (The $12 million salary) is so far out of whack. Hopefully, he realizes that." The Broncos have Dwight Freeney in their back pocket and the market working in their favor. We're betting Dumervil will cave.

Lacy at the Broncos would be awesome

Wasn't the whole idea behind the new CBA (from the players' perspective) supposed to be changing the playing field so rookie contracts were smaller, and given a similar cap, vet contracts were bigger? Does it seem like to anyone else that "mid-tier" free agents are getting what I'll call sizable contracts, but at the same time, a literal record number of veterans are getting cut (11 STARTING free safeties in one off-season)?
One-time classic financial kitchen sink move by ~all NFL teams (I'll leave the economics out until the conversation carries, may need a diff thread for that), did the NFL player reps just totally frick this up, or was the whole point to overpay mid-tier free agents (and thus did the owners negotiate terribly)? I mean as native New Orleanian, I love Mike Wallace, I'm proud of the dude despite going to OM, and I'm glad he got paid, but I can't turn on ANY radio without hearing how everyone thinks he got overpaid. I don't want to call Kruger out for only having 15 sacks in his career since he was buried behind some guys in Baltimore, but that's still a lot of money. IDK maybe at 27 I'm out of touch with what NFL contracts are for specific positions these days and should go back to telling kids to get off my lawn.
I'm just having trouble making sense of it...for the record I'm a Saints fan, I know our cap situation is fricked and I am not "mad" about it (and wildtigercat93 if you are still in school you should holler at the Pats' front office for a PR job and just show them your postings, srsly no disrespect, you could lock that job down).

The 49ers are looking to improve the cornerback position this offseason.

Adrian Wilson and John Abraham both visiting the Pats
Would love to have both. I think we need another pass rusher for sure (cant ever have too many) and Wilson would beef up our safetys (one of the smallest tandems in the league) even though he might just be a two down player. Guy with his experience could hopefuly rub off on Tavon Wilson as well

Just curious, how is it we? Not saying it can't be, but you are a LSU fan in Central. Where is the we?

All "Pats" fans are bandwagoners.

Two veterans in those key positions would help the defense tremendously.

What, so we have to be Saints fans just because we're from Louisiana?

Exactly, this isn't Nazi Germany, last I checked anyway.

I love the "we" fallacy. If you ever move to Oklahoma as an NFL fan you are fricked.

Instant winner! You are obviously the smartest person here.
So if I questions him, I'm a nazi, but if you question me you are cool? Got it
