I like the rule change it keeps the Johnny Armchair Officials from calling in and reporting penalties. Its bush league.

They're still allowed to call it in, it's just that if you sign, then someone calls in the violation, you're not dq'd, just penalized. So Harrington and Camilo would've just been given penalty shots as opposed to dq

And one of the most entertaining, not talked about pairings is last off. Gary woodland, Vegas, and Quiros. Those are some bombers

Fisher is far from a "nobody". He only plays on the European Tour which is why most don't know much about him.

That's why I put it in quotes. I'm sure that most PGA Tour players, especially someone good enough to qualify for the Masters is capable of throwing out a great round. My point is, many times the early lead in a major is the guy that most people haven't heard of. Fisher fits that mold because he is not a "Tiger, Phil, Els, Padraig, etc". Somebody that has proven to be one of the top players in the world. Usually, but not always, the "nobody" is not used to the media focus and falters the deeper into the tournament we get. Maybe Fisher is ready to take that next step towards becoming an elite golfer, but at this point, he's still a realitive unknown.

I'm looking forward to this group as well.

Aaron Baddeley seemed like a cool guy and will be pulling for him hard this weekend. I see he's -2.

Hoping to see Paddy make a nice showing. He's my favorite golfer and his swing changes are starting to take form. his crazy new practic putting strokes over the ball seems to be helping him a bit.

This isn't correct. If someone calls in a violation, then the officials will have to deem whether or not the player should have reasonably known that he broke the rule. In Camillo's case, he should have known that he couldn't move a loose impediment while his ball was still rolling. I don't know what Harrington case you're referring to. In Dustin Johnson's case at the PGA (had he signed his card before being told about the rules violation), I still think he would have been DQ'd too because it would have been reasonable for him to realize he broke the rule by grounding his club in a bunker.

I get your point, but that's only because he doesn't play in the states.

Ross Fisher is ranked #44 in the world ranking above guys like Vijay Singh, Camilo Villegas, Stewart Cink, Ryan Palmer, ect. He also played on the Ryder Cup for Europe last year. He's had a large amount of success in his career so far.

IMO, I would classify a guy like Zach Johnson (1 win and little success in majors before he won the Masters) or Ben Curtis (before his British) as a "nobody" before a guy like Ross Fisher.
