re: The notion Florida State is a different team is completely asinine

If the Chiefs locked up the number one seed then Mahommes goes down do they miss the playoffs then?
If the NFL had a playoff committee picking the best 4 teams those Chiefs probably don't make it.

Why be such a simpleton and act like all schedules are identical? It’s not so crazy to believe that a one loss team can be better than an undefeated team.
Strength of schedule:
Alabama - 5th
Washington - 11th
Texas - 13th
Michigan - 33rd
Georgia - 37th
Florida St - 55th

They were told no because they’re not good enough without Travis. It’s not hard to understand
Because the team that did have their QB needed a choke and a prayer to beat a shitty Auburn team and 7 gifted points to beat UGA, while that "not good enough" team had 2 2-score wins with backup QBs. Definitely not hard to under$tand what happened.

It astounds me to see so many in the SEC get on their knees for the ACC right now.
Posted on 12/3/23 at 12:14 pm to POTUS2024
Nobody is on their knees sucking off the ACC. FSU got fricked, plain and simple. Swap FSU's name with Bama/Clemson/UGA/Ohio St/Michigan and see if any of those 13-0 teams get left out facing the same situation of starting the 3rd string QB. Not a snowball's chance in hell they would.

So does Iowa. They lost 26-0 to Michigan last night because their offense is arse. That is Florida State without Jordan Travis.

BAMA was a different team from one week ago.....remember that team that barely squeaked by??? NOW all the sudden they are all powerful.
College football is broken.
College football is broken.

most SEC fans pull for the other conference teams
I gave this up a long time ago. Everyone else in the SEC (LSU fan) can lose every game for all I care.

When did we became a conference who weren't SEC, SEC, SEC?
Happened to me in 2011 season when Bama/Saban got one of a neverending list of mulligans/second chances.

Why is this a foregone conclusion?
FSU played with Rodemaker and won in a rivalry game on the road at bad Florida where FSU won and scored 24 points.
Bama played with Milroe and won in a rivalry game on the road at more bad Auburn where Bama won and scored 27 points.
FSU last night with 3rd string freshman Glenn is not the offense that would have been showing up with a month of preparation in the playoff and Rodemaker back.

There is not an elite quarterback left in the playoffs. Their defense could wreck havoc against anyone out there
Sure they could, and they'd still lose 24-6 because their inept offense with a backup QB wouldn't be able to move the ball against Michigan's defense. Then, we'd be wondering what an Alabama team who just took down Georgia, the class of the sport right now, might have been able to do against Michigan.

This is opening a can of worms regarding injuries. I know his injury was graphic but what if they said it was a sprain and he might be back for the playoffs? Should Rodemaker have played with a concussion? Are you going to tell a college kid he ruined his team’s chances to win a title by getting injured as if it’s his fault?
When you look at it from a human perspective and not just a football perspective, it is absolutely disgraceful. What if the head coach dies and the team plays poorly for a game or two? Should they be punished for that?

Browning put up 10 points in his first game and 34 in his second. Apparently a backup QB is incapable of improving his performance week to week.
Posted on 12/5/23 at 12:12 pm to Fus0623
Rodemaker had one of the worst passing performances against the UF defense the entire season. Probably Leary at Kentucky was the only one who put up a worse line (and UK still blew them out) among P5 teams.

There is no college football team, none, that has “an NFL caliber defense.” That’s just silly college football fan chest beating. The Carolina Panthers would utterly decimate FSU’s defense (and Alabama’s, Georgia’s, Iowa’s, etc.).

Tate Rodemaker was not playing bad by any means
12/25 for 124 yards against the 82nd ranked defense isn't bad?

I'm no doctor but the lower leg shouldn't bend like that. That was so brutal and needs no explanation. I just hope this kid can play again. You will never, ever hide this type of injury.
Joe Thiesman couldn't nor could Alex Smith or Tyrone Prothro. Dak Prescott made it back and so did Kenyan Drake. Boston Player, at the time, Gorden Haywood, came back from that type of break.
Good for them and I'm truly rooting for Travis to play again. I thought he was the best QB this year in college football.

Yeah, how'd that work out?
Bringing half a team to a playoff sounds like some great football.

Your defense was in the top 20 until you played Jayden Daniels

The last time an FSU team was let into the playoffs, despite looking like arse for most of the year like the current one, just for being undefeated, they lost by 40 in the semi's.
Not sure why anyone who's a fan of college football would honestly want to see them get smacked around by Michigan just to keep 'Bama out.
