So called a TO to avoid Delay of Game with 4 seconds left, no issue and smart play. You don't take 5 there and stop the clock without discussing assignments. I'm sure Broadway checked to the play seeing what NLU was playing. You don't run into 11 guys, that gets someone hurt and taking a knee stops clock on 4th.
I am not sure I let him check into go routes, but I don't know what their keys are.

This "sports writer" was so offended by this decision that she bitched about it in more than one story. Someone doesn't understand football.

I was ready to jumpin here and blast Hudspeth after reading the write up, but then I read Hendo's comments, and looked at the play on the link...
If ULM is going to blitz 11, then the Cajuns are good to pass. If you have conceded defeat, you don't blitz. If you are still competing, then the team leading is allowed to keep on playing as well.

Exactly. If they had let the cajuns run out the clock it would have happened. You can't expect a qb to run around for 4 seconds with 11 people coming balls out for you.

yeah if the defense was called to strategically take away an option to run out the clock, then the offense has to adjust. if you want to concede you concede. if you haven't conceded then you can't bitch at the other team for following suit

Why is everyone such a pussy now-a-days? I don't give a shite about the other team's feelings. From now on... I hope we attempt to score at the end of every game, especially when it's out of reach. Cry more.

I agree with this. It was ridiculous and even a little unclassy to do what ULM did, but why sink to that level with them? ULL could have still just run out the clock and still win with class and pride.
FWIW, I'm not a fan of either team, but just an observation.
