should not be eliminated from the CFP. Let’s assume the following happens:

Ohio State 13-0 or 11-1
Michigan 13-0 or 11-1
Georgia 13-0 or 12-1 or 11-1
Tennessee 13-0 or or 12-1 or 11-1
Clemson 13-0
Alabama 12-1 (this includes beating GA/Tenn in SECCG)
TCU 13-0
PAC one loss champion

All of these teams deserve a shot at the CFP and I may be forgetting a couple one loss teams.

The expanded playoff can’t get here soon enough.

If you lose to one of the four that are in, then you aren't good enough to be in the title game. I'm still pissed alabama didn't even win the SEC but won the national championship vs. LSU.

The loser Ohio St and Michigan deserves nothing. Clemson or TCU will get absolutely boatraced in the playoff. Oregon will win the Pac12 and nobody needs to see them play another SEC team. Two SEC teams will likely be in the playoff anyway.

One of those four is going to get left out. If Alabama runs the table and beats the winner of Tennessee/Georgia, the loser of the latter game will be left out of the playoffs unless something wild happens at the end of the season.

If the final standings are

1) Ohio State 13-0
2) Clemson 13-0
3) Alabama 12-1
4) TCU 13-0
5) Georgia 12-1
6) Oregon 12-1
7) Tennessee 11-1
8) Michigan 11-1

All of those teams deserve a shot at the CFP

You want to see complete meaningless bowl games….leave out teams 5-8 in my rankings after the amazing season they had

I get the reasoning for expanding the CFP, but I don’t like the effect it would have on the regular season.

That UT-Bama game was an incredible game, but is ultimately meaningless. If the CFP get expanded, the UT-Georgia game would also become meaningless.

Most of these 1v4 playoff matchups have been boat races anyway. Not interested in watching a wasted playoff game between Alabama-Oregon or Tennessee-TCU

They aren’t meaningless at all. The winner has much more wiggle room going forward. The loser has zero margin for error going forward. They got their one mulligan.

It used to be if you lost in the season you didn’t get a mulligan.

This. It sucks for Michigan to beat OSU, then for OSU to be rewarded for that loss with a winner take all rematch for the title this time. How does that make any sense?

No…you just didn’t lose or lost early enough in the season in the hopes that someone lost later.

If LSU was to win out including beating UT in an SECCG rematch we'll be top 10, but not top 4 unless some really crazy shite happens.

Beat Bama and we can start talking about it.

So which is it? You just talked about how one loss used to put you out.

If LSU beats Bama this week they’ll be top 10. I don’t think it happens, but LSU running the table with wins over Bama and Tennessee/UGA would have them seriously in contention for top 6

Right, and when the CFP gets expanded to 8, there’s a good possibility (some) teams get 2 mulligans.
