It works that way if you’re worried about other teams hiring him. Who’s going to do that?

How exactly for the university? Football game Attendance doesn't make that much money.

Are you suggesting that any of the coaches in college football wouldn't like to be amongst the top ten paid?
He is trying to get his money what do you care if it's from Colorado or Florida State no one's asking you to pay it
And if you aren't trying to make as much as you can in your job
you're an idiot
And so we're clear i'm not saying that the only reason to work is to make money
but in whatever job you've chosen to do why not try to make as much as you can from your employer or other employers

Who cares, Deion deserves better than Colorado.
He’s in over his head in Colorado

If he can put a decent product on the field with the talent losses then he may deserve more money, but not Top 10 type of money. At no point has CU looked like an elite coaching staff. May turn into one, but it's not there yet. Guy at Arizona St has been far better.

Considering Mike Norvell is in the top ten, I’d be asking for a raise too.

i think this is the year colorado pays him, or middles him
shite show, then good season, now u see what he has, especially llosing some of best players at their positions.

i think they know he's gone if he gets a job offer from some where in a p5, in South

Even when CU was a powerhouse I doubt they ever paid a HC top 10 money
Posted on 3/19/25 at 8:15 am to homemadeshine
The only saving grace for Deion is he is in a horrible Big12 and didn't have to play the top two teams in conference last year.

Yeah if I’m CU I wait a year

Norvell rebuilt FSU and was a count hair away from the 4 team playoff. He’s beaten some top teams. Then he got the contract, then he had a blow up year.
And a bunch of other programs including Alabama reached out to him. He got his market price at the time.

In the 2024 fiscal year, the University of Colorado (CU) athletics department reported a record $146.6 million in revenue and a net profit of $8.2 million, a significant turnaround from a $9.89 million deficit the previous year, largely attributed to increased ticket sales and merchandise sales, especially after Deion Sanders's arrival as head football coach.

I can't wait until Deion disappears from college football all together. Goes 9-4, blown out by BYU in bowl game, finishes fourth in an extremely weak Big 12, despite having two of the supposedly best players in the country, and now he wants to be paid like an elite coach!
I'm not necessarily saying he is or isn't a top 10 coach, but Colorado only had like 1 winning season in the past 20 years prior to him getting there. Think about that for a moment...

But he didn’t make the playoffs at colorado!!

It's gonna be real bad. I wouldn't give him a big contract either. He's done everything he could possibly do for them. It's all downhill from here for Colorado and Prime

This is with Shedeur and the Heisman winner Travis Hunter. With revenue sharing now, even with this turnaround, they'll be right in the red again for 2025, before you factor in the falloff with Hunter and Shedeur gone.

Looking for a reason to get out job and be involved in Sheduer’s future.

He's made Colorado relevant again. He's worth it.
Colorado must be looking to find out how he does without the 2 players that made Colorado relevant again.
It’s a reasonable approach. It’s not like Colorado won a tough bidding war for him. They rolled the dice.
