The blame for the LHSAA split playoff format should fall on the shoulders of?

Is there any chance of it getting fixed?

The 7 principals that came up with and pushed the plan to move JC and ECA down to 1a and 2a back in 2004 hence sending them to run roughshod over the smaller schools for the next ten years.
If that never happens there never is a split

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.
Of the 7 principals that came up with that proposal, how many were from private schools?
I'll hang up and listen.

It goes to Evangel and Curtis basically mimicking college football and recruiting which public schools weren't allowed to do.
Claim they don't all you want but you can't have that type of advantage for private schools and expect public schools to just take it.
Those two schools weren't winning because of superior coaching no matter what their fans want to believe.

Parents, Parents whined to the schools about little jimmy not getting his damn trophy.

I would say the Catholic League who invented recruiting... Curtis and Evangel perfected it

There is no doubt they recruit. But nobody ... repeat NOBODY ... recruits more than the big public football powers.
West Monroe is the worst. But they all do it.

That's ironic because a public that once beat ECA in a post season game had a leading tackler who lived in another parish and two school zones over......
So. Uhhhh NO

So what was the answer? Because everyone knew that they both had 2A enrollment the other class publics (and many privates I would also guess) concocted the raping of 2A by banishing those 2 there. The upper class publics let the smaller schools flap in the wind for almost a decade, yet they were all concerned about "fairness". Don't let the publics fool you by saying they all united and stuff. They could give a crap about each other and each school will vote in ways that benefit themselves.
2A finally had enough but instead of giving it back to the higher classes, they came up with the split that of course everyone jumped on. Blame the privates like all the privates are like JC or Evangel which are very far from the truth.
So now the whole deal is screwed up and the privates are getting punished with smaller playoff brackets and a championships all played on one day which ends after midnight. The private schools will have to make a move soon because its getting worse by the year

Will selects only play selects in the regular season next year?

Wasn't it the principals at Winnfield and Doyle that pushed for the split?

The public schools have the biggest recruiting advantage:they are free.
In almost every state, the public schools dominate the privates. Louisiana is an outlier because our public schools are such shite.
However, the good public schools also seem to be very good in sports. It isnt a coincidence people

THey were 2 of several...
But in 2004 if ECA and JC are not pushed down to 1a and 2a respectively - we wouldn't be having this discussion.

It's not as bad as the "everyone deserves a trophy crowd" claims it is. Contrary to popular belief, there are parents that actually want to send their kids to private school. You're full of crap if you think for one minute public schools don't recruit.

You're very naive if you think for one minute that coaching isn't a big part of most private schools.
Take a school like Notre Dame in Crowley for example. Look at the kids on their roster and you'll find probably 95-98% to be white kids that wouldn't see the light of day relative to playing at a public school on Friday nights, much less get a football scholarship. Now take a look at their records over the past however many years and look at their championships and teams they've beaten in the regular season and playoffs and tell me that coaching isn't superior. (I have no ties to Notre Dame HS what so ever but I have seen them play at least 1-2 times a year over the past several years as an opposing teams fan.)
Here's another little morsel for you "everyone deserves a trophy" crowd,........Kevin Faulk was NOT zoned for Carencro high school. He was zoned for another school in Lafayette parish but just so happened to end up at Carencro after his middle school playing days. That is a well known fact that's still talked about to this day!
Bradie James is another public school example of recruiting. There's many more that I'm sure some folks could chime in on.
So You're full of crap if you think for one minute public schools don't recruit.
