Name one student, not even an athlete, that pays no tuition at Catholic-BR.

I'll wait.

I love that grown arse adults are so damned concerned about protecting the facade of the high school they attended.

As opposed to the grown arse adult who literally makes up shite on an anonymous message board to discredit high schools?

At Catholic-BR, for those that need help, that kid can spend all summer working at the school from 8am-5pm as a job for the kid to use the money made to help pay tuition. This summer program is a good mix of kids from white to black, from athletic to non-athletic.

Yeah, U High just magically became a magnet for blue chip recruits. For a two year span U High had more talent on a high school field than 99.9% of high schools across the country.

The 7 principals that came up with and pushed the plan to move JC and ECA down to 1a and 2a back in 2004 hence sending them to run roughshod over the smaller schools for the next ten years.

If that never happens there never is a split

There is something to this... and I would accept it as gospel, except that...

They increased the number of titles.

If this was truly about public vs private, they would still have 5 champ games, or at the most, 6. 2 for the privates, 3-4 for the publics.

You don't have to be "paid to go to a private school" or even given a "free ride" to have an advantage. How many Division 1 football scholarships were given to kids from U High in the years from 1990-2010? Now how many division 1 football scholarships have been awarded to kids from U High in the last 6 years?

FWIW, I'm against the split, but still recognize that the playing field is not equal.

The playing field is not equal for good teams, both public and private.

Good athletes, like good students, find their way to the best programs within their means. Parents move or use other addresses all the time to get kids into certain schools.

The 1988 Uhigh State Championship team had 6 D1 players on it alone. 6, for a 1a team at the time.

That was the team my cousin was the parade all american qb......

Sometimes it happens when you have what is known as a great coach. The talent flocks.

I have friends right now who are doing this. The kids aren't athletes, though.

there would be no split....... from 2005 until when ECA and JC played DivI(5a select) no school other than eca or jc won state in the 3 classes they were in for those years. In fact they rarely had close games.

negative.......it's all public record....I deal with some of them.

It's easy to figure out, it was the schools with the most to gain in 4a and 5a by getting rid of JC and ECA and or keeping JC out of 5a.
