Here's a question. Given all the backlash that happened with Lebron over the summer about how he was essentially just choosing the easy route to a championship by signing in Miami, if you known then what you knew now about the season, about chris bosh being much closer to a quality role player than a superstar, injuries to the 4th and 5th best players on their roster, their stiffs at center, and about how fricking competitive this season has been from top seed to eight seed,

would you have still agreed that Bron took the easy route?

Seeing Lebron and Wade essentially win these games by themselves has been insane to me. The amount of effort both guys are expending on both sides of the court. It's essentially the two of them and then the next 5 players on the other team are better than all of the heat players.

if they win THIS year, i think the degree of difficulty has been pretty high.

seems to me bron to the bulls would've been the easiest route.

I think the Bulls are Rose and a bunch of quality role players, too, but I'm not much of an NBA guy so I will defer. I don't think Miami is near as good outside of Lebron/DWade as Boston minus their Big3 which is why the offseason was laughable attacking Lebron and not KG/Ray Allen

Given Lebron would have been the unquestioned leader going into this season with the Bulls, he would have gotten more respect no matter how you slice it. I'd even go so far as to say Rose winning the MVP is partially from the backlash of "Look at what the Bulls did without Lebron."

Also, the very thing you are saying about Bosh could be applied to Boozer as well. He seems to have become more of a role-player with the Bulls so that cancels out.

The biggest failing of Lebron is going to join a peer, who is on the same level as him, on his peer's team where his peer already won a championship. Bosh is still good, he is not being utilized properly.

anyone who knows basketball should have known it wouldn't have been the "easy route" right out the gate

meshing two elite players who like the ball in their hands with very few decent players outside of them isn't a surefire recipe for a championship

Easy there.

But I don't get this argument. Today we want to blast athletes for being me first all the time. So what does Lebron do - he goes to a team that he feels will give him the best shot at winning a title and we still blast him for it? I don't get it. Would yall rather he said "I think my chances of winning in Miami would be better, but in Chicago I could be THE MAN"? I know if I were in his shoes I would have done the same thing. Clearly Cleveland was not going to surround him with the talent necessary to field a championship winning team. So going elsewhere made sense.

And to answer the OP's question, no it's not an easy route when you look at the ridiculous talent on the other playoff rosters as well. The NBA has and always will be very top heavy.

It really should be called the Big Two.

but since we're looking at this in hindsight. Wouldn't Rose have been essentially equal to Wade?
And then the 3-7 players are far better on the bulls. Deng, Noah, Boozer, Korver, Gibson would all play on the heat over everyone but Bosh.

the Bosh thing was to say that the Big Three was an unfair moniker. It should've been called the Big Two and a fourth.

But it turns out that Rose would've been as big a peer.

And that the Wade peer hadn't advanced out of the first round since 2006, and actually had had a couple of losing seasons, including a season where the Heat had the 2nd worst record in the NBA.

That's why I don't get the Lebron should have wanted to BEAT instead of JOIN Wade argument. Wade had never been a threat to Lebron's Cavs. They beat them handily once. And then never heard from them again.

If Bron had re-signed in Cleveland. And Wade had re-signed in Miami, is there any doubt that the Cavs would have still been a upper level East conference team? And that miami would've still been a 6th 7th seed?

They joined forces to BEAT THE CELTICS.

Well considering he supposedly teamed up with the oter best player in the league according to some, he did take the easy route. And Bosh. Is a role player now? Lol. He was TORONTO. The lengths you Heat fans are taking to try and make LeBron and Wade seem like demigods is ridiculous.

Well this thread is about retrospect. If he had gone to the bulls, would it not be the same thing?

Have you seen Bosh play this season? Have you seen him this series?

Chris Bosh is the 7th best player on the court this series.

good player. BAD team.

What are they? They are the only two fricking players on the heat. You would literally trade every other player on the heat for their celtic counterpart.

So you're saying that when a guy is a FA his top priority should not be going to the team that he feels will give him the best chance of winning a championship?

If youre the annointed best player in basketball why would you feel the need to go join another superstar? Why not build your own legacy. He isn't an alpha and probably never will be. I mean we can argue this all day. He is in the prime of his career, and no matter how much you want to spin it, he will always have the stigma.

If i were him i would have gone to chicago. That team would have wrecked fools. They were already put together so much better than the heat squad. But bron wanted to play with his buddies and thats fine.

Chicago was the choice because it wouldn't have been viewed as a "super friends" type situation while still being the far better constructed team.
