Since the state of Ohio went to its 6th...then 7th division for football, the small school landscape has been utterly and thoroughly dominated by Maria Stein Marion Local. For such a small school, their numbers are unreal. Its like the whole school plays football. Its ridiculous how good they are for a small school. All they do is win.

11x State Championships since 2000:

2019
2017
2016
2014
2013
2012
2011
2007
2006
2001
2000

6x State Runners Up since 2000:

2018
2015
2009
2008
2003
2002

Only 3 times in the last 20 years has Maria Stein Marion Local NOT made the State Finals. Its stupid!

Marion Local has crushed some really good teams in those championship games too. They beat Kirtland a few years ago by three touchdowns when Kirtland looked like the best team in D6.

Marion Local plays in a really, really competitive conference. Those games have them battle tested for the playoffs and several of their conference members are bigger schools than them.

Lincoln County for Georgia. That’s probably the best choice for them although I would have thought they would have been ranked higher.

Lincoln County hasn't been that good lately though, have they? Clinch County has been winning a lot of the single A public school titles the last decade.

Im not clicking that link, but I'm going to guess Piedmont for Bama?

I live right across the state line from Piedmont and none of the schools in our area want any part of them.

Do they have that thing boiled down to a simple list?

All that scrolling and crap... who's got time for that?

Because no one lives in the city limits. WM is around 13K in city limits. Monroe is 47K. Yet somehow there are 155K in Ouachita Parish

That’s exactly how it is in St. Tammany Parish. The majority of people live in unincorporated areas. There are an estimated ~260,000 people living in the parish, but the largest cities and towns (Slidell, Mandeville, and Covington) have populations of roughly 27,500; 12,500; and 10,500 respectively.

It is without a doubt, top to bottom, one of the best leagues in all of Ohio regardless of division. The MAC (Midwest Athletic Conference) has won 35 boys Football State Championships, 65 other boys team State Championships, 71 girls team State Championships. Its a GREAT league.

Marion Local
Coldwater
Delphos St. Johns
St. Henry
Versailles
Anna
Minster
New Bremen
New Knoxville
Fort Recovery
Parkway

Minster went into the playoffs as a 6-4 #8 seed a few years ago and absolutely steamrolled through the D7 bracket. They blew out Cuyahoga Heights on the same weekend Marion Local blew out Kirtland. D6 and D7 finals that year were represented by the same two conferences.

Agreed on this. I had the misfortune of playing against them in the early 90s. Was a freshman Hearst's senior year. He would only play on 3rd downs against us, we would stop them on first and second, he could come in and take it 70 yards for the score. They have fallen off, Clinch and ECI (my alma mater) and a few others have stepped up to be solid programs.

Do Homer or Haynesville play Claiborne Academy?

Don't know for 100% certainty but I very much doubt it. Different high school governing bodies, different schedules. CA started as a segregation academy although most of those schools that are still in existence have nondiscrimination policies now. The Louisiana association folded several years ago and the Louisiana schools still operating merged into the Mississippi private school association.

Greenwood is a suburb of fort smith and is a 6a school. What in the frick are they doing on this list. Best small town football in Arkansas is either warren, junction city or maybe Prescott.

Not since Larry retired but I thought it was an all time thing. If not Clinch would have it based on the last ten years.
