I think he could be near as effective as Schwellenbach. Better chance than the other two guys

This year’s Braves and Mets are only teams who have carried 13 pitchers in this round under this format in 3 years.

Very atypical but I guess it’s due to the DH yesterday

That's a ridiculous standard to hold AJSS to at this moment of their respective careers. Schwelly is leaps and bounds more advanced as a pitcher than AJSS.

I he can get us through the SD order one time giving up 0-1 run, that's a win.

Instead of saying "I think" I should have said "I hope"

That and the current state of our pitching staff.

Unbelievable that Sale sits around for two weeks, and suddenly has back spasms when we need him the most. Absolutely incredible.

I know this is reaching 2 pages back into the comments to reply, but it sounds like you’re trashing the guy. We are eliminated a week ago without him this season.

AJ Smith-Shawver will start tonight’s Wild Card Series Opener for the #Braves at San Diego.
2024 Stats for AJ: 4.1 innings pitched
Unbelievable

Edit: I still think he gives us the best chance tonight. If things go south, give the ball to Elder the remainder of the game and take the L.

Probably a week or two prior to that

If that's what you read into that, then you're looking for a reason to start something with me. Par for the course around here. I'm obviously frustrated that we got this far with him staying healthy, only for this to happen right at this moment, on top of everything else that has happened this year.

Is that alright?

Hey Steelers

Excuse me?

This is no resemblance of anything I said to what he would say. If I were him, I'd be telling you that everything is fine, and that you shouldn't have a dissenting opinion.

What I said is that you were all melting in the thread, but now you're upset with me (going by the number of downvotes) for having something less than positive to say. I was pointing out the hypocrisy, but I guess I shouldn't expect people to notice their own hypocrisy. I don't care if you melt, or if you think the sun is always shining on the Braves. All I ask from anyone is that they be consistent, and that they not expect that everyone will see things the same way they do, the way that some around here get all worked up because someone isn't positive enough.

Some guy thinks I'm trashing Chris Sale because I'm upset and frustrated that he's hurt at the worst possible time. What am I supposed to feel about it? Excited? Does it mean I'm accusing him of getting hurt on purpose?

But if I had said the sky was falling while game 1 was ending, nobody would have blinked. After the fact, though, I'm not allowed to say what's on my mind? I missed my window to fit in with the crowd, is that right?

Sounds like that's what you're upset about.

Sorry that Braves fans were less than enthused of how game 1 turned out and how game 2 went for much of it.

Seriously, stop being a bitch.

Are you really that obtuse, or do you simply refuse to acknowledge the point? Even after I've gone out of my way to spell it out, you think I'm upset that you melted?

Did you read past that sentence? It seems like every time you respond to me, you have one sentence that you quote, and you leave out the entire context around, and completely miss the entire point. You cannot understand and respond to something that you have not read.

I made it abundantly clear that my issue is that people are acting as if I was melting, simply for saying that I was frustrated with the Sale injury, even after they, themselves, were melting for hours. At no point did I say anyone did not have the right to be upset with how things were going. Believe me, I WAS, TOO. But because I came in after the games were over, and said what was on my mind, instead of pumping sunshine, that was suddenly not ok.

Do you see the hypocrisy, yet?

You have no point, you're just mad people were posting negatively yesterday.

Again, it's bitch made.

You're a bitch.

Once again, from my very first post in this thread, I said nothing about anyone's reactions. But you haven't read that have you? I came in here and said it was nice that we won, but then went on to say how it stinks that Sale got hurt right when we needed him the most. And that just was too much negativity for people to handle.

So I pointed out the hypocrisy. You know as well as I do how that looks. You just have too much pride to admit it.

And this is your maturity shining through, as always. You are incapable of handling any disagreement like an adult.

Get off your high horse, you coward. We post in the moment. Sometimes we’re right. Most times we’re wrong. It’s weak and petty to show up afterwards and act like you’re above it all.

You, too? You can't read anything I actually said, either? I've got posters upset with me for being "negative" about an injury, and I didn't just post it in the moment when the sky seemed like it was falling, I said what I thought even after it was convenient to do so. That is the opposite of being a coward.

I pointed out the hypocrisy to make a point, not to say that people couldn't melt. I was VERY upset during Braves meltdown, myself. What I don't get, is why some of you think I can't be upset with an injury without being accused of "trashing" that player (which I did not), but it was ok to actually trash the whole team. I completely understand the mood, and felt much the same way (though I try to guard my language against outright hatred of players, over a game). I do NOT understand the double standard, and I do not understand how people keep missing the point I'm making and only see "he's mad that we were negative!"... None of you are paying attention to the hypocrisy I'm pointing out, and are instead just reacting to one part of what I said, because you don't want to be painted in a negative light.

You never do, it seems.

And I'm not bringing this to the new thread. It has nothing to do with this.
