Hamels and Felix
Felix was never expected to contribute a whole lot.
Neither one was signed with intent to be the difference in October.

Guy just looks like a kid out there with his emotions.
He hasn't shown outward emotion for like 3 years.
He's a mental-midget headcase but he never really showed emotion.

Low risk/high reward signing and he was arguably our second best pitcher in the spring. No, they weren't expecting much when they signed him, but you can damn well bet that they would rather have him out there tonight than Folty.

And there lies the problem...
Felix was arguably our 2nd/3rd best pitcher in the spring, but yet the intention wasn't for him to be the difference maker in October...
So who was it supposed to be???
That's what's so frustrating. You can't keep feeding the fans hope that 1 or 2 of these guys are gonna "take the next step". That gets old really quick. And if Hamels/Felix were signed to help you take the next step then what are you even doing?

Folty has Jake Delhomme syndrome. Just never recovered from one god-awful playoff game

I agree that pitching was by far our biggest issue last year and it's frustrating that we weren't in the mix for anyone this past offseason.
I understand not breaking the bank to get Cole, but it's not like Ryu got some big deal in Toronto.

You wonder if something else is going on looking at the guy.

Hopefully he doesn’t end up like Tommy Hanson but he looks like a fricking crackhead

Am I crazy, or wasn't he skinny when he came back from Gwinnett last season and was actually decent until Game 5?

How’s Kyle Wright? Yonny’s a pretty solid 5th for us.

Sean Newcomb, you are on notice

He had a 2.65 era in August and Sept

That’s when I remember him starting to lose weight too. Hope it’s not drugs or his health, he had those blood clots a few years back. But last night was just a carryover from that atrocious Game 5 last year, best of luck Folty.

Game 5
He became completely unglued when Freeman booted an easy double play ball that would have ended that inning at 1-0.
I really hope he's not on drugs. That drastic weight and strength loss is concerning.
