Freddie, Mac, Gattis, and CJohnson are the only guys I have any faith in to get a hit with RISP.

Yep, and Mac is hitting around .230 with RISP himself atm. It's so weird how much we suck with RISP. I pretty much expect it these days, but it's bizarre.

Walden looked good.

He was hitting 97 pretty consistently. Hopefully he can give us a little stability in the pen.

That sequence right there pretty much sums this team up. Underutilized bench player has great AB, fights off a couple of good pitches, and goes the other way for a single to start the inning. Double play. Ball, ball, ball, take right down the middle, take right down the middle, pop up.

If we can't hit bombs, we have absolutely no chance of scoring even a couple of runs consistently.

how long is bj going to play? Do we just stick with him because of the contract or sit him or even send him down if he doesn't start producing a just a little bit?

I tried to make this point a few weeks ago, it equals failure in the post season against good pitching

Why do the Braves end up with these guys that forget how to hit?

I realize that. Do you think he will continue to sit 3 out of every 4 games though?

4 hits against one of the worst staffs in the league.

ETA: With a spot starter on top of that.

Going to the Ted for tomorrow's game. Maybe we'll have better luck then.

I have thought for a while that he and Freeman are Frenchy and McCann all over again.

I strongly disagree. Heyward's worst season so far was better than Freeman's best.

And this far into each players careers Frenchy was much more highly thought of than Mac. Clearly Jason is on another level defensively compared to Frenchy, but it's a fair comparison given the way both players are performing this year so far.

And the only reason you can say Jason's worst season is better than Freddie's best is due to defensive WAR, which is questionable to begin with.

You mean Mac was thought of much more highly than Frenchy.

dWAR is not great, but any defensive metric you use tells you Freddie is pretty bad defensively and J Hey is elite.

Offensively J Hey has had two years better than any Freddie has had as well though.

Heyward is really good at baseball. Francoeur is bad at baseball.
