Yeah, I agree to a large extent. Freddie and Justin are the two I'd like to see us extend to long term deals, along with Simmons if he has a decent year with the bat.

Simmons is streaky, but it's not the bad kind of streaky that Heyward seems to be (season to season). He's just streaky for a few weeks good or bad.

Also, we are about to go from 1st and 3rd with no one out to not scoring a single run after BJ fans.

This and Beachy if he recovers well.

If I found a lamp on the beach, rubbed it, and had a genie pop out, all 3 of my wishes would be to never see BJ Upton in a Braves uniform again.

Definitely, I just meant if Simmons can post a .750ish OPS. I'd just want to ensure he's more than a sub .700 OPS defensive superwiz before extending him.

How do you open the inning with a triple and not even score a run. Uggla and BJ are useless.

Color me fricking shocked. frick you Melvin Emanuel Upton. You're not worthy of putting or receiving a BJ near your fricking name.

Yeah, was just considering batters really. I'd like to see us extend Minor and Beachy if we could get a year or two of their free agent years at a reasonable rate.

I understand the hype is there, but why it's to the level it is at I don't understand.

If he can go .270+ AVG, 20+ HR and 90+ RBI consistently, then maybe I'll give the dude a break. I don't feel like that's too much to ask for a guy as highly regarded as he is.

Tough critic, I know

Beachy's throwing motion kind of worries me. Lots of Mark Prior in there. I'd need to see him stay health for a couple of years before wanting to make a big investment into him.

We need to go ahead and sign Minor this offseason. He's going to be a sub 3.50 ERA/200+ innings guy for a long time IMO.

Inverted W.

On the other hand, I saw Minor on a list of top 10 safest deliveries (Cliff Lee was #1).

Yeah, it'd be nice to sign him to the sort of deal the Mets signed Niese to after this season (buyout all remaining non FA years and two options for around 10 mil a year).

I didn't think Beachy's motion was that bad (though clearly the TJ surgery says otherwise).

I don't want to see us making a huge investment in any pitchers, the risk/reward is just to high with long term pitcher deals these days.

I don't think I'd go more than a couple years into free agency with any pitchers unless we got a major discount. Minor's low effort delivery would definitely make me feel fairly safe though.
