Not sure. Carp downprobably. Maybe Juan or Schafer DFA'd. They'd probably wait to DL Meds at least and go Gilmartin for the rotation

Doubt it's Meds.

Either Carp or a mystery DL stint from a position player imo.

No, I meant exactly what I said. Do you seriously not remember how much more highly thought of and hyped Frenchy was than Mac both coming up and through the his first seasons? He was the golden child before he proved that he sucked.

You seem to be thinking RS and I were talking about careers here, we are just talking about starts here. Frenchy had the two 3+ WAR seasons to start off that made everyone think he was going to be amazing.

dWAR is not great, but any defensive metric you use tells you Freddie is pretty bad defensively and J Hey is elite.

I agree that Jason is elite (really no doubt there), I just think Freddie is average at 1B, below average range notwithstanding. I also think the perceived value of OF defense that goes into defensive WAR metrics is way too high.

But regardless, the premise RS was making that I can agree with to an extent was based on future performance, not what Freddie and Jason have done so far. Obviously if Jason is producing low .800 OPS he'll likely be more valuable than Freddie ever will due to the difference in defensive value, but I can easily see Freddie settling in as a .850-.875 OPS 1B long term, and Jason has such wild variance in offensive ability I don't know what the hell we'll see long term.

Hey did you go to Troy? I know a couple boys from playing High School ball that went there.

Just now saw this. I was there from the fall of '99 to summer '04.

And for those doing math at home that is my BS and MBA.
