Yes, spending money can be a bad thing if it handcuffs you. That’s why not overpaying is often very smart. We have no clue today how it works out but I have had no problems with letting guys leave. As much of a hole that Dansby left he wasn’t worth what he got. If the Braves now have more options to resign a Baldwin, Ritchie, Fuentes, and other young guys then not overspending was smart. Look at Soto. He is a great player - but how many games will he give you and out of those games how many will he just lay down when the Mets are 15 out? That was a wasted signing.

The Braves have holes as does every team. The Phillies are old and getting older and the Mets are just a group of players and not a team. The Braves will be there in October because of our pitching, Then it’s a crapshoot.

No one is spending money to be handcuffed you buffoon.

It’s a gamble, sometimes it doesn’t work out, but every sports fan should want their team to spend

Ha ha. Name calling because everyone sees who you are. Sure, the Braves should spend to spend and end up like the Mets or Padres with nothing to show for it. We all know your man crush leaving has you against AA. We get it because you tell us everyday how bad the Braves are because we didn’t spend money the way you want. You are a perfect Met fan.

Braves have a 5 game lead in the NL east

Literally every other division in baseball are all .5 game margins

The AL West is probably the most competitive right now but also the worst

The 11-11 As are on top tied with another .500 team and the angels only .5 games behind

Also with the dodgers off yesterday and the padres and us both winning we both closed the gap from 1.5 games to .5 games for best record in baseball

And the cherry on top of this delicious Sunday is the Mets are tied with the royals for worst winning % in baseball at a hilariously pathetic .318%

I think there has been a little craziness to start the season. Who would have thought the Astros, Mets, Phillies, Blue Jays and Red Sox would be among the worst teams in MLB so far? It’s still extremely early in the season and some of those teams will get it figured out but they all look awful.

Hell, the Rockies has already won 9 games. This time last year, they only had 4 wins. Last year, they didn’t get their 9th win until May 23rd.

I think the argument of the NL Central being the most competitive right now. Every team in the division right now has a winning record and only 1.5 games separate first and last.

I really can’t complain about how the season is going so far for sure.

Out of the teams you mentioned at least imo the phils massive regression this year could be seen a mile away. They were a team built with a window and its slammed shut. The astros have been ravaged by injuries even worse than us last year.

The others are big shocks

Pretty crazy Braves are in this position despite the thin rotation AND Acuna/Riley getting off to mediocre starts.

The new platoon guys outside of Yaz have been great and bullpen has been unreal.

If AA is legendary status for one thing it’s getting randoms to play out of their minds at times

IMO, the Phillies will eventually get their shite together and be in the playoff mix at the end of the season. The Mets will be the ones who fall off a mountain and lose 90ish games.

Getting the Phillies now while they aren't playing well is a huge plus. Get them again for 3 next weekend and then don't see them again until September.

The Mets have the talent to turn it around and go, but I’m starting to think that locker room is just rotten.

The problem with the Mets is they didn’t do nothing to really improve their hitting in the offseason. Soto being hurts them because he is now the biggest bat in that lineup and without him they have no real power. Their off season moves didn’t make any sense.

Half their starting pitching has been decent and the other half has struggled. Backend of their bullpen is struggling. Letting Diaz walk was a mistake for them.

They can rebound but they are not a playoff caliber team right now imo.

Disagree here. They spent plenty of money on hitters, but then decided to shift Bichette to third and try polanco at first base. The biggest issue was not spending more or finding a way to keep Pete
