He cannot handle, or lay off, the high inside pitch, and teams just keep eating him alive there.

It's because he occasionally does connect with one and sends it into orbit. Until he realizes the occasional bomb isn't worth all the strikeouts, he won't get better.

Yeah, if the pitch leaks out over the plate, he can hit a high one, once in a while. But if they keep the ball in, his swing is too long and he can't pull his hands in quick enough.

I don't think I've ever seen a player have such a lack of self awareness, in baseball, as him. He'll go 0-30 with 15 strikeouts, and then hit a home run, and strut like he's hitting .400 with 50 homers. That same lack of awareness is probably why he won' make any adjustments on his swing. He's too cool to change. That's cool with me, though. Keep hitting .165.

From Freddie Freeman:

quote:

With the regular season less than two weeks away, I want to address some issues that have arisen since I began this next chapter of my life with the Dodgers.

First of all, my relationship with (Braves president of baseball operations) Alex Anthopoulos remains great. When we spoke earlier this week, I told Alex how much I enjoyed my time in Atlanta, especially last year when we all experienced the thrill of winning a World Series. I also apologized for some of the comments I made during my introductory press conference with the Dodgers. It was a very emotional week for my family and I.

Everyone should know my wife, Chelsea, and I will always have the utmost respect for the entire Braves organization and the city of Atlanta. My family and I loved every minute we had in Atlanta. We envisioned our future there, which is why it was such an emotional week for us. However, we truly believe that God has a plan and everything happens for a reason. We believe that we are exactly where we are supposed to be with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen the countless friendships we made since joining the Braves organization way back in 2007.

Chelsea and I have cherished the relationships we have developed with our Atlanta charities and we will continue to support them going forward.

We wish the Braves nothing but success this year. I love all of my former teammates and I hope they have continued success.

We wish Matt Olson and his family nothing but the best.

We appreciate the many Atlanta fans who have reached out and been so positive over the past couple weeks.

Alex gave me the option of receiving my World Series ring in Los Angeles or Atlanta. I am thankful for the opportunity to receive it in Atlanta in June in front of my former teammates, coaches and fan base that provided me incredible support over the past decade.

While my time with the Braves was special, I am now looking forward to beginning this next chapter of my life with the Dodgers. We have a tremendous team and a tremendous group of guys in this clubhouse. I can’t wait to get on the field and get started with my new teammates. I am thankful the Dodgers have given me a chance to spend the next six years being part of their great tradition and continuing to allow me to play the game I love so much.

I gave everything I had while I was with the Braves and I will continue to do the same thing with my new organization, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

See you in June … and in October.

Charlie Morton sharp with 4.2 innings of no-hit ball today, 5 K’s 1 walk when removed.

Kranitz indicated today on the TV broadcast he expects Wright and Ynoa to be the 4th and 5th starters.

Was that Kranitz or Snit? I just saw the same quote and it was attributed to Snit.

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I agree w/them.

I don't get this confidence Braves fans/players have going forward. They beat the Dodgers in a 7 game series, and thats awesome. But The Dodgers have been clearly the better team over the past.... oh lets see.... 1,000 games or so, at least? Lets pump the brakes a bit

The Braves aren't the team guaranteeing a WS win.

6 game series and it could’ve been a sweep if Jackson doesn’t blow game 3. Also happened to be missing one of the top 5 players in baseball.

Sure but was he asked a question or did he volunteer the information? Even a team that everyone knows is tanking says their goal is a WS. I don't think its that unreasonable for a team that good to say whatever they want, TBH. They either back it up, or they don't.

Long term trends. Would you rather be the better team over the 162 coming up? Of course. The Dodgers in all liklihood will be better than the Braves over 162. Will that necessarily matter in the playoffs? No. If the regular season didn't matter though they a) wouldn't give pennants for it and b) wouldn't play such a long season

You'll be among the loudest of the criers when the Braves drop in the playoffs to the Dodgers in 5 if they even make it that far this year

Well, they also gave the Braves bulletin board material, so there's that.

And the Braves have a better staff than the Dodgers. The offenses are a wash but if Bellenger hits .165 again w/200K's then the edge goes to the Braves. They are also younger.
