Glad we stuck with him last year instead of shipping him off like SteelerBraves wanted us to.

He's fricking w/us. Everyone knows that I was the biggest Riley proponent on here. we don't need to rehash that.

AA said today that Acuna will probably ve ready to DH the second week of April and be back in the field by the first of May.

I'm at full mast right now.

Saw this on another board:

quote:

Heard a Dave Roberts interview and he was asked about Freeman, he basically said he's heartbroken. Roberts said he's definitely got some emotions going on that hes trying to work through. I hope Freddie has at least fired his agent for that mess.

Dave Roberts "guarantees" Dodgers WS victory.

So Dave Roberts went on Dan Patrick's show yesterday and guaranteed that the Dodgers are winning the WS.

Thanks for the bulletin board material for the Braves clubhouse, Dave. Now go mess up your staff in the NLCS again.

Does adding Freddie while losing Seager really make them that much better? I’m not so sure.

i absolutely have loathed that ballclub since birth when we were in NL west with those cocksuckers.

after past woes in playoffs with them (especially 2020) it was very cathartic beating them last year. monkey off our backs. we can play them loose now.

Braves are not going anywhere we have a nice size window and are the defending champs. not one single team took us to an elimination game and it is arguable we shoulda beaten dodgers in 5.

brewers in 4
dodgers in 6
astros in 6

frick the dodgers.

Freddie has more power and gives them a more well rounded lineup since they simply moved Trae Turner to SS to replace Seager. Add Freddie, subtract Scherzer, Kelly, and Jansen, they're probably slightly worse than last season.

I’d lean towards expecting the Dodger lineup to better with the addition of Freeman and seems like there is no way Bellinger can be as bad as he was last year.

Pitching looks like it could be worse. No Scherzer. Buehler and Urias should be good. Can Kershaw and Gonsolin stay healthy? Heaney is just an innings eater. Price washed up. Bullpen lost Kelly and Jansen.

I'm not sure playing "tight" against them has been a problem with our current core of players. It's been more about going into a series with no SPs and giving NLCS starts to AJ Minter, Bryse Wilson, and Kyle Wright last year or Folty, Newcomb, and Anibal Sanchez in 2018. Last year we at least gave 5 of the 6 starts to Ian, Fried, and Morton.

great photos...the memories will never be forgotten.

I think Freddie is a better hitter than Seager, hands down, despite what the LA media would have made us believe (and I'm sure they have flipped that narrative now that they have Freddie). But it's not an enormous improvement, and they are clearly worse off, overall, having failed to retain Scherzer, losing Jansen, and Bauer is not likely to be reinstated any time soon, if ever.

The people, like Roberts, who are acting like they just dropped Freddie into the middle of last year's Dodgers roster, clearly are forgetting about who they lost.

He was not very good in 2020, either, and further regressed last year. I don't think he's going to right the ship. He cannot handle, or lay off, the high inside pitch, and teams just keep eating him alive there.
