in baseball particularly, i feel like it's important to rotate in new voices.
Yeah, in sports, ten years at the same place is a really long time. They haven't brought an outside voice on to the coaching staff as a whole in awhile. Tui and Goodwin were both internal promotions last year after Wash and EY left. Good opportunity to get a different perspective or two in the building.

Probably some dude in the minors of some organization that’s really good at developing players (like the Rays) that everybody in the sport knows and respects, but we would likely have never heard of him.
There are probably some former players that would be good, but you wouldn’t really know until you saw them on the job. And almost all recent ones made too much money to be willing to grind it out in the lower levels. I bet whoever we hire we either won’t really recognize his name and/or won’t have enough info to determine if it’s a good hire or not.
This. chances of it being some big name are slim. I fully anticipate folks melting over the final decision without really having any basis for it.

Olson and Sale are gold glove finalists

I don't know what the metrics say, but the eye test told me that Olson was awesome with the glove this season. Looked more like the defender we expected to get from Oakland.

This was the first season with him here where I don't recall him making any WTF errors, so I tend to agree.
He's always been largely smooth there, but in 2022 and 2023 he had some moments where the baseball glove was a foreign concept to him. It was weird.

I have no idea how sale is a finalist over Spencer.

Sale and Strider had the same stats this post season. Nothing in the regular season matters for the top teams in any sport. The Braves have one thing that matters - winning games in October. Winning CY Youngs and Gold Gloves or even 100 games do nothing to win in October.

Usually, I ignore your empty comments that you post because you are so desperately trying to shine the spotlight away from you and on someone else's stupidity in ATL Threads.
...but...
Bawski, you can't say shite considering you were loud wrong in this thread saying Seitzer isn't going anywhere and he was literally fired two days later.
Like I said on the onset, stop tarding up this thread.

Chipper will be on the Braves Clubhouse Report on 680 at 2 PM today.
Wonder if he's gonna walk back his comments he made on Twitter a few weeks back?

You want him turnaround and lie because you were uncomfortable with the truths he made public?
Odd.

So now you can read minds, b/c I never said that I disagreed with Chipper's comments.

He also never made comments on Twitter. It was on a podcast that was posted on Twitter. He did go on Twitter after Seitzer was fired to explain the comments and say it's ultimately up to the players to make adjustments and heed the coaching their receiving. Said he had a lot of respect for Kevin and the other hitting guy that was let go.

Can someone start a Steelers in season thread? That might get one of the dumbasses around here to change channels.
