Massive series

Massive game

Sale has been the best pitcher since the ASB in the NL but imo the Miz hasn’t been far off pace and was way ahead in the first half so I think he should probably win cy young but sale is 100% in 2nd. He gets bottom 8% run support in all of the MLB

As for this 7 game set with the Phillies remaining 4-3 would be fantastic

Thoughts about trying to give Murph some run higher in the order? We really really need to space out our top heavy lefty lineup better

Like the best lineup is probably right now imo at the top would be

Harris
Acuna
Olson
Baldwin

Then I’m not sure. Maybe Ozzie if you want to break it up but Murphy has looked pretty damn good recently

If you could fit Murph in there it breaks it up a lot better so we don’t have the potential prospect of 3 of hitters 4 being lefties starting an inning late game

Man it sure doesn't feel like we have the 2nd best record since the All-Star break. But I'll take it!

Dodgers are a game ahead of us after coming from behind to walk off St Louis in the bottom 9th last night.

I believe we are tied with the Dodgers at the moment. Going to be tough to stay ahead of them, but their bats have been worse than ours lately.

That’s because we are by far the most inconsistent offense in the entire MLB.

We could show up and rake like the 2023 team did or we can show up and be one of the worst offenses in baseball.

We are going to have to really hone in on consistency this last month. The recent massive uptick in Stolen bases is a good sign in the right direction imo

Suarez is throwing bullpens expected back around 2 weeks left in the season

We need to call up a few relief pitchers for help. I would also call up someone like Lodis or whomever you think your best defensive shortstop is currently

Then again I think Walt is just begging for any excuse to go away from this 6 man rotation to 5. The first one to blink out of Holmes and AJSS is going to the pen imho

My playoff pitchers are

Sale
Mahle
Perez

If a 4th is needed I’d go elder. Either that or piggy back Holmes and AJSS letting each take 3ish innings

I’m guessing the downvote is the “Lodi’s or whomever you feel is your best defensive SS” part

I said that because Kim isn’t going to be on the playoff roster and Dubon will play almost every game there, but what happens if he gets hurt or someone else does and he has to be moved? Having someone that is great with the glove on the roster to fill in with a month of big league play under his belt would be only a good thing imo. Some may prefer Hartman over Lodi’s which is fine, why i said or whomever

He doesn’t have manny innings at SS though. A bunch in CF and 2B

If Kim keeps hitting like he has been since the walkoff against LA, he will absolutely be on the playoff roster.

And what if Kim goes another full month hitless?

I just don’t see the harm in seeing what you have a little bit during September call ups with one of Hartman or Lodi’s (imo it should be Lodi’s since he is a pure SS)

If Kim outperforms him we lose nothing

Neither are ready for MLB pitching

If they add Lodise to the 40 man and we have a long lockout going into next season, he won't be able to play in minor league games. Same with Hartman.

Both of those guys need a good bit more reps in AA ball before they're seriously considered for the majors. I'm guessing the team doesn't want to risk losing development time for them next season.

I'm not convinced Kim was ever healthy when he came back from the finger injury the first time.

I didn't downvote you or anything, but your suggestion here is an extremely poor idea, and probably why you got downvoted. Beyond the fact neither player is remotely ready for MLB play and have barely gotten to AA, neither player is on the 40 man roster, so you would have to get rid of two players to add them. And we'd already have to remove two players if/when Suarez and Lopez are hopefully ready.

But what makes your idea really dumb is the potential impending lockout for next season. Any player that is on the 40 man roster will not be able to play during the minor league season as long as the lockout is taking place, as they are considered part of MLB. But any of our minor league players not on the 40 man will be able to play the entirety of the minor league seasons next season (and the minors will continue to play regardless of a lockout at the MLB level).

I'm personally expecting a pretty long lockout next season, so your idea would screw Lodise and Hartman out of possibly a full minor league season of development, for no real benefit.

You guys are totally 100% spot on

Lockout never even crossed my mind when I was spitballing waiting in the car for my wife inside Walmart

Braves brain trust strikes again. Best on TD. Nay, best on all of the net. Especially guys like VA Auyushu
